Yeah, you know there's no basis to most rumors. Why just last year there was a rumor than Clear Channel was going to sell it's Jackson stations and you see how baseless that rumor was.

there was also a rumor at that time about CC looking for a new urban station, so while the sarcasm is enjoyed, the exception doesn't disprove the rule. and Mike, I'll pass it on... Conrad was talking about you not long ago (all good) but just so you know.. Conrad knows just about everything that goes on anywhere.. so if anybody knows the truth behind the rumors.. it's most likely him oh and greg... we could use the co-workers
I would like to offer my perspective on this Forever/Clear Channel chat. During my two years with CC I learned alot and enjoyed the opportunity. So enough with the evil empire talk. When Forever purchased the CC stations in Jackson, I lost my job. It wasn't personal. It was business. Forever wanted to put in one of thier GM's from another cluster who knew how their company operated. Makes sense. I was upset that I lost my job but not bitter. Kudos to Jared Walters for stepping up to the plate. I don't think Conrad will leave. He's an instituition (or he should be in one...i keed)And who doesn't like Frogs? They're cute, cuddly and delicious with the right sauce.

Let's just stick to the facts.Fact: Eagle 104 will soon be Froggy 104, most likely with a new air staff.Fact: Rock 92 will soon be a JACK, most likely with no air staff.Deal with it.
dude... who took a wiz in your breakfast... why does it matter to you.... are you working here... do you have to deal with what happens? I just don't get why you are so upset about it.. or why you are taking things so personaland how do you "know" so much about the stations.... maybe you work for hanso.

1) Jettisoning Conrad would seriously alienate a hefty slice of the P1s who listen to Eagle/Froggy/Pick-Your-Favorite-Animal 104. He must remain--with no "Frog-name"! (Still having nightmares about "Luke Skyhopper"... 
)2) Rock 92 is in the middle of the pack; jocklessness isn't going to do anything to enhance them, or that station's revenues, either Jack or otherwise. You're just begging people to run away from radio when it's not live and local, regardless of the format.3) To my brain, the real conundrum is TJS. They have Glenn, Rush, Sean, and Bill and Phil (O'Reilly and Hendrie), yet they're bouncing off the bottom of the barrel? That just make no sense. But following my theme of "More Real, Live, Local People," perhaps they should lose the WSJ show in favor of a locally-produced news-talk morning show? Or, have they officially surrendered the format to WNWS--in which case, wouldn't it be time for something like Classic Country?--Mike

Or, have they officially surrendered the format to WNWS--in which case, wouldn't it be time for something like Classic Country?--MikeI could seriously go with a classic country station.... but the problem with TJS is we have lost the heart and soul of the station with Dan De. when he left under very disgruntled circumstances, there is no one left to pick up the slack on TJS. his first week he did imaging, and updated news frequently. and asked about a local news show, he really could have made one fly. but now.. no news people, except myself and the traffic people that are helping to fill in. so it's a bit hectic... once things start to gel I wouldn't mind seeing tjs go either way

I worked at Forever for 8 years.I do not mean any disrepect towards you or your co-workers. I think you are one of the most talented people in the West TN market and I just don't want to see anyone else get screwed over by the company. You can take my warnings with a grain of salt if you must, but I wish someone had alerted me earlier when I worked for them.
I gotcha! Warnings and all! So let's let the chips fall where they may. I appreciate the compliments, although I believe there are a great many folks in this area much more talented than I. Not knowing WHO you are, you may very well be one of my heroes! I'll tell you this… There's change for the good and that's uncertain. There's change for the worse and that’s not certainty either. What is most certain is that there’s ALWAYS going to be change. You can roll with it and learn from it, or you get gobbled up by it! I try not to let change run me over. Although I have to admit, I’m becoming a creature of habit! It just takes me a little longer to adjust now that I’m older! You can quote me on all the above! Peace “wally” I have a remote on one station and Voice Tracks on another and 3 days of Production, Voice Tracking and Scheduling to do. I’ve spent more time on this topic than I ever intended.

I want to chime in on the coffee. Nobody does it finer than Gregg Rivers. A great American in my book.As for the crew in Jackson, it was truly a talented group of folks and I never saw anyone work harder during my days there. Roger, Jared, Conrad, Shari, Gregg, Dave H., and the list goes on.They all deserve to be working in much larger markets.a TJS alum.
What in the world is happening there? I worked there a bit in 2000 under AMFM.I thought they were a wonderful bunch to work with but if Shari Harper left, that is pretty telling. She was as much a part of the place as the nice paneling. I seriously enjoyed my time there...I don't comprehend how this could have happened. Like I said, the crew that was there during my time was top-notch.
Change happens. And it happens a LOT in radio. We miss Shari and wish her well. You said YOU left when CC took over. What's so hard to comprehend about Shari leaving with another owner? Oh yeah and CC painted all the paneling white when they took over. It sure brightened the place up!
I think it says alot that so many people have left since Forever took over (either on their own or were forced out) Just think about how many people are no longer there...Jared, Shari, Roger Vestal, Gina Langley,their business manager who had been there for years, Marty Wilson, the sales assistant who had been there for over a decade...all gone within a couple of months. Every couple of weeks somone else quits (last week one of their salespeople went over to Thomas Media).radiopimp said:
