hahaha...and "The Card" has been played.I'm not a racist (heck, my sister dates a lady of different ethnicity than ours)...and I don't see how Gregg's reference to painting the walls is racist.Unless you are referring to the word "white" that he used.If that's the case, then, WHO is the racist?I guess we'll need to call Al and Jesse and straighten this thing out.All I am asking is..."Give Peace A Chance!!!"Love to all!MEEP!

In an act of reparation, they should paint all the paneling... chocolate, perhaps? Then, at least Ray Nagin over there might be happy.--MikeP.S.: Check the dropcloths they used when they were painting... perhaps some of them had eyeholes in them? I mean, seriously... ::)

What a racist comment.
Racist? Man how in the WORLD do you get racist out of THAT? LOL
I've know Gregg Rivers for many, many years and I can assure you he is not a racist. In fact he was born a poor black child. He used to tell me stories of his youth --the days sittin' on his porch with his family, singin' and dancin' down in Mississippi. You guys are barking up the wrong tree.

Still on the subject of a "mass exodus" at Eagle 104......I heard long time dj Conrad Delaney has put in his resignation from "Forever".............what is really going on there? I guess that's all part of the "new team" they are putting in place for the switch to Froggy. If this is true, it will be a great loss for the community.............I guess nothing last "forever". :'(

Oh my.

Well, having just discovered this unending source of brilliance last week and resisting the urge to stoop to the level of some of our all-knowing contributors...I will reply to all and anyone discussing Forever Communications of Jackson:1. I write the checks - Kelly Green (thank you for identifying yourself)...if you received an offer for a big fat check you can be assured it wasn't from my company...your chain has been pulled Bill...big time! If we wanted you back in our company, I would have called you personally - hope the crops are fruitful down on "The Farm". 2. Gregg Rivers, you are the best - you have the foresight to see the light. Your former compadres may be crying on the way to the unemployment line if some of them aren't already there... 3. My favorite - the coward currently collecting a pay check from me - let me tell you buddy...get some gonads and work elsewhere and quick. Verla Price may be a good friend of mine but it's a mistake to underestimate my passion for this business - she could be my sister and if she were not capable of not just doing a great job, but EXCELLING at her job...I wouldn't have wasted the moving expenses! If you had half a brain you would see that...but, guess you don't...so why not resign on Monday before I find out who you are and Verla asks you most politely to leave.PS We'll send you a bill for whatever you consumed on my dime. And last and most importantly...there is great talent in Jackson - Roger Vestal, Sherry Harper, Conrad Delaney and a host of others across town. We respect that talent and value it..as only one who has been in the business knows....it takes the TOTAL RADIO COMMUNITY working together to improve the programming and revenues in the marketplace...and I would hope that those of you who seem to be passionate about this business would realize this and stop wasting your time speculating and taking personal attacks on individuals and companies of which your knowledge is limited at best.In radio forever, Christine HillardPresident/COO

The fact is nobody here respects Verla-it's a two way street and she certainly has not shown any of us respect. She treats us all so badly and as I said earlier, she makes very rude and INAPPROPRIATE comments to us on a daily basis. Is this an acceptable way to treat your employees? And I do stress that EVERYONE has complained about the way things are around here. If there was a real Human Resources Dept. in this company, it would be flooded with complaints. A truly great manager knows how to motivate and treat their employees and doesn't have to belittle them. She also has been very rude to several of our clients; many of them have said they will never advertise with these stations again and have simply taken their business to the competition. To try to raise the rates so much on a product that has declined in quality in just 3 months is ridiculous. And to tell the clients you're doing this based on what the stations "will be" is insane. You can't honestly expect clients to pay these rates when you haven't proven your "greatness" yet; in fact, you've accomplished just the opposite so far. Does the fact that our billing has dropped so much not concern you or other higher ups? But we all know that because of her close relationship with you, she has job security. She can run these stations into the ground (she's off to a great start on that one) and keep her job.The simple fact that Conrad is leaving says alot about Forever Communications and our community will take notice. The "mass exodus" has already gotten the attention of many people in the area. I look forward to the witch hunt on Monday because there is no way to find out who I am---until I too resign. She foolishly thinks I like her, as she foolishly thinks others here like her as well. Many here are looking for other jobs. The "mass exodus" will continue.

Wow. Christine/Radiogirl!What a classy move for a senior member of management to make.No one likes to see their own company or its stations get burned on a board like this...but for a "President/COO" to stoop to name calling and revenge threats on the same board is truly interesting. And you're calling the THIS board and its members an "unending source of brilliance"! Ha.Way to set a classy example for your "underlings" and for the people you pretend to show respect for at the end of your rant.I don't know you and could care less how much power you have in "your company", but my guess is that it's possible that Daddy or an Uncle started you in "The Business". I could be wrong, and maybe you've really worked real hard to get from "Junior salesgirl" to the all powerful position you find yourself in today. In the spirit of staying "civil" like radiosaur mentioned, I will continue my response by simply saying that if you truly want to stand up for an upstanding broadcast company, a dive into the fracus like you posted on this board is NOT the way to do it.You may be "President and COO", but your juvenile response to the people (all of them) on this board is nothing but an example of immaturity that hopefully is not an indication of how you'll be operating your daily "business". Your have been a poor example here, indeed. And trust me when I tell you that this is coming NOT from a part-timer from podunk who'd even consider a "job" working for you...but from someone who may have just as many years experience in radio and with radio people as you.I mean, c'mon...a President and COO of a company-that needs to be taken seriously-writing here, "Get some gonads and work somewhere else quick"- and threatening to terminate an employee in a public forum like this!Yeah, buddy...that's some management and people skills! Way to set an example for the "Verla" person.Besides...I once knew a tough red-haired lady radio GM in that town that you couldn't hold a candle to-even if you were all that you seem to think you are.I only hope that maybe some people in your company, even higher up than you (if there is anyone higher than you), stumble upon your effective leadership skills shown here and rein it in just a bit. After this, I'll bet there will be people just lining up to drop off tapes and resumes to work for your company.Maybe you could make some radio show out of it and call it "Forever Idol".Only...the LOSER has to work for you.(OFFICIAL DISCLAIMER)Forever may be a wonderful company to work for...I don't know. But whenever I see someone (especially in radio) in power in a company, threatening an employee publicly, it stirs me up. That's my opinion of what happened here. The opinions I've shared here are only that-my opinions. If she fires somebody for something they wrote on here...I'm sure a decent attorney would take the case-especially with the posted threat right here.Now...let's see what kind of classy reply we get on this one.And Radiosaur...I apologize...and I'll leave this alone now.

Consider that anyone could have posted that and signed her name.
Good point. The same can be said about the poster who claims to work there. He/she could be a former employee with a grudge or just a troll that saw a thread where he/she could stir the pot a little. So goes the life of messageboards! ;)That said, it sure would be nice if some of the Memphis management or owners would post here! That could be a real hoot! C'mon Doc, join the party! ;D (The smilie was added to note my extreme sarcasm with this comment.)

That's true. It COULD have been anyone that just signed her name.I thought about that; but I really think it's genuine. If not, though, then obviously, my comments regarding the post are moot.(and someone with more issues than Christine is posting for her)I also have a feeling that there are more management people in Memphis radio looking at this board than we might think.

Oh, I don't doubt that for a minute.

My Two Cents:Honestly I don't understand the uproar. It's simple. We've all have heard the term Bandwagon.Jump on, or fall off. If you fall off, don't take it personally, if you're a TEAM PLAYER and have a love for Mass Media, you'll find another place. If you're all about glittering generalities like most of society tends to do, then you're going to keep getting knocked off(fired or quit) because you're not playing the game correctly. As for imposters posting and saying he said she saidThe internet is full of these people.Anyone can get on here and pose as someone else. For all you know, I could be the ghost of Christmas Future or a Monkey trained to use a computer and smoke cigars.
