Me-TV FM? Online anywhere?

As always, I stand to be corrected, but I believe WMyx (99.1) is the HD-2 channel with the MeTV FM format. Last time I checked, it was streaming on Radio.com. If not, one of my favorite online streams, 2CH from Australia, has a similar music mix. Albeit with live jocks 24/7 hourly newscast and a slightly heavier commercial load.

As for WZTI, "The Fonz" is the latest in a long series of format changes on the at Milwaukee's 1290 dial spot. The 60s-70s oldies so far seems to have more staying power than the other recent attempts. No doubt thanks...,at least in part....to the two translators. Good thing they have those....I was trying to listen on a suburban Milwaukee SDR (online receiver) one nighght a couple of weeks ago, and "The Fonz" was getting clobbered on 1290 by WIRL from Peoria. WIRL is also oldies, so perhaps nobody notices!

I was going to see if I could find the NIF of WZTI 1290 somewhere. I figured around 25 mV/m. fccdata.com has the Canadian NIFs on the Canadian Database section. CJBK 1290 is a similar situation as WZTI, in that case, mainly from WHIO 1290. The NIF is shown as 30 mV/m for CJBK. Never understood why London had the same frequencies as Dayton, 980, 1290, and 1410.

HGR1290 thought that WHGR 1290 had an NIF in that range also, from WHIO and secondarily WIRL.

Found in one of Jeremy Ruck's applications. They are always very complete. WZTI NIF is 52.7 mV/m.

WZTI
US WI GREENFIELD 61.43 0.00 0.00
50% = 52.659, 25% = 52.659; WIRL=45.88 WHIO=25.84

I don't think WJMK 1250 Bridgeport, MI and their translator on 99.3 have an online stream. I also know that every time I've listened recently, the modulation on both the AM and the FM translator were quite low.

No online stream shown.

Coincidentally, the same call letters of the iconic Oldies station in Chicago for many years back in the 80’s and 90’s! That was the oldies station I grew up listening to as a kid and I loved it. Great DJ’s too with Dick Biondi and John Records Landecker!

Good idea grabbing those call letters.

Even though those call letters are a "dyslexic" form of Magic/WMJK.

I didn't realize that the call letters WJMK had also been on 100.9 Pinconning, MI, in the same market as WJMK 1250/99.3. That is now WLUN. The call letters WMJK are now on 100.9 Clyde, OH. That station also once had the legendary Boston 1510 WMEX call letters.

They may be a dyslexic form of "Magic", but they're wanted I guess.

Hmmm....I never stopped and thought about that. London, the city, is more than twice the size of Dayton, but the "Greater Dayton" metro area is larger than London's metro area. I really enjoyed stopping in London, spent more thime there than Dayton, and had a good customer on the north side of town. But I can't say I had any bad experiences in Dayton, and was able to write some business there, as well.

The only other two places I can think of just off the top of my head with three common AM frequencies were Honolulu and the Quad Cities of Illinois and Iowa (Davenport). Until fairly recently there was an 1170, 1270, and 1420 in each location. The 1170 in Honolulu (KOHO) and the 1270 in the Quad Cities (WHBF/WKBF) are now gone.

Speaking of MeTV-FM, did they switch formats? Didn't see the news anywhere. Last few times I've had it on, it is "Air1", another Christian station, because we all needed more of that.

The one at 87.7 in Chicago? Wow! You'd think that news would be all over this board by now, given the obsession many R-D posters have with that Franken-FM.

Exactly my thought. But I have it on a preset amongst all my vehicles and now in multiple vehicles, it's Air One. The RDS on a few of those vehicles lists the song/artist/station info.

I looked up Air One frequencies in Chicago and 87.7 isn't listed. The closest is one in Sugar Grove at 88.7.

BZZZZ, wrong. I dont know what exactly is up, but I just texted the Weigel Broadcasting Chicago engineer and he told me as of just a few minutes ago 87.7 is still ME TV FM

I'm glad, at least through next July, right?

But in three separate vehicles I've been getting Air1.

Is it all while these cars are stationary or driving around the city?

Driving around the western/NW suburbs.

Like .. consistently.. or does it come and go, weak, strong?

It kinda sounds like youre hearing people broadcasting Air 1 using one of those sirius xm modulators

It seemed pretty consistent. I mean, I was waiting for it to fade out and METV to come back over it, but it never happened.

I think I checked last night in the truck, sitting in front of my house and it was still Air 1. I haven't looked today. But if I remember, next time I'm in my car, and it's still Air 1, I'll take a pic. I am closer in here at work in Glendale Heights, so maybe being closer will make a difference.

Take a short video.. i wanna see the RDS rotating/changing text data as it scrolls. I posted on Facebook and am curious now as to whats going on.

Some of those modulators do have the capability of sending RDS data actually but it sounds like youre hearing a strong more consistent signal then one of those would provide
