meet and greet other members in this group?

Aren't using "failed" and "Dave Pratt" in the same sentence redundant?

Not that much in this thread should be taken seriously (apart from @Kelly A 's clawhammer), but I need to speak up.

We've all had ups and downs in this business and Dave Pratt had a good 20-year run with enviable ratings for most of it at KUPD. I believe it was the longest-running rock radio morning show in the country. He followed that up by boosting KZON's numbers and did the same for KMLE (at an eye-watering salary).

Beyond all that, I've met Dave---and there are few if any people nicer, and he's been a big part of helping local charities reach their goal.

Not to mention, I'd guarantee you that nobody from this board would look in person anything like Brad Pitt. More like; 'Good Lord'!

Well, yeah. I mean, not even Brad Pitt looks like Brad Pitt.

Some of us do use photos of ourselves for our avatars---myself, David (though it's not recent), and, I'm increasingly certain, tall_guy1.

When another message board I was on had a meetup in Vegas, they went to karaoke, rented a limo and other stuff. There's an awesome track out by the air force base where you can race Porsches, Lamborghinis and other cars too.

Respectfully, you've got some regular members here who still proudly record stuff to VHS and watch it back on CRT TVs, likely with a mess of cables and adapters to make it all still work in 2024. I'm not sure they're the type to rent limos with champagne and stripper poles or race high-powered sports cars. The karaoke idea maybe, but karaoke sessions can turn horribly tragic, very quickly depending on the level of "talent" and their selections of tunes.

They could go to Fremont Street and pretend it's still 1985.
Also, nothing could top the drunkenly screamed version of "Islands In The Stream" I heard one couple doing....

So I'm putting it out there again and seeing if their is any interest in meeting other members and experts maybe at a restaurant down in LA if it's not to far for them. I'm thinking a central place for all anyone interested? It would be neat to meet hagerty, David and bigA in person . Any takers?
Not interested as I am only a radio fan and listener and would have very little to say in such a meeting. Perhaps a few of the people on here would be up to a zoom, Google meet or FaceTime get together but I prefer to keep my interactions with the members within this forum.

There certainly seems to be a bit of 'cross-pollination' when it comes to (market) region-specific sub-forums here.

There *might* be two or three that would take-in a 'meet-up' in any given market, but I just don't see it being more than a one-off occurrence.

At best.
