Trock ---- years ago (not going to say how long ago, because it's painful) when I did the research on buying 98.1 (stayed Classic Rock and #2 behind 99Rock) and then eventually 92.1 <(which I still think to this day, thankfully never happened) I was always convinced that the hole in the market in Destin/FWB was some form of Urban. WBLX was the only game blasting in strong numbers. The reality is that even though that was an OBVIOUS choice, it was not a prudent choice for maximizing PROFITS. The format, while certainly popular, is not a strong choice for getting revenues in. Today, it's even tougher. The revenues come from the female, 25 plus listeners. That's why FLY shifted. BH is right about being sad to see if shift, but I would assume the revenues proved to tell a story of less than stellar billing compared to what they think it could become. Whether that is right is still TBD. Now, If they do put this Foxy thing on 103.1, then they are stacking a younger leaning company and trying a niche sales approach. It might work, but it's a longshot in FWB/Destin. The only reason PFM is still even trying is they make more off the ad rev from two clubs than flipping (me just guessing from past logic)... That won't work at 92.1 or 103.1. I haven't studied the market or formats in a long time, so I may be off on this, but it does have a national application.
