MOVIN has talent!

The trend to use "non-DJ" talent has worked, but generally in 12-24 stations. Many of the MOVIN stations are going for more traditional talent like Rick Dees in LA. If MOVIN is targeting KUBE's younger end and KBKS, then Monti is a good fit. Eric Powers is late thirties and hardly aimed at 12-24, KBKS is just having a rough year in ratings. The thing I don't understand, just the sales guy talking, is what is MOVIN's target. Originally they were aimed 25-44, but the airstaff is aimed 12-24. The music is even leaning younger with more current product than some of the MOVIN stations. I had it on my dial (a 30 something guy) as a secondary station, but no longer listen. It was too rap and too young for me.

My point is that maybe the station is trying to sound young, while playing some music to keep the older audience happy. Wait for four books and we will know if it works. Until then, it is just like JACK in most advertisers minds.

Re: MOVIN has talent - OR LACK THERE OF

Can you VOX PRO ALL YOUR BREAKS ???? NO fundamentals of how to use a request on the phone, no forward momentum, setting appointments w/ the lsitener...no payoff on the out.....WOW.....CMON MARC is THIS THE BEST YOU COULD GET ??? Monti is weak as a talent sorry but after giving her some TSL ....I felt sorry for the Factoria Radio Network they made a great move format wise but have seemed to have fallen off with the departure of the PD, support staff, and no AM Drive......and this is their idea of their "ideal" PMD person.......How's the Kool Aid people ????

I believe I posted that several months ago on this board. PM and Evenings sound great. Morning talent after the first of the year.

The reason JACK is not succeeding may be partly due to the music, but the format needs to grow. Music for the first nine months to establish the brand and bring home the numbers. That is followed by the addition of talent and then a new marketing/promotion campaign. MOVIN also updates its current music, making it a completely different animal than JACK

To those who MOVIN is the next JACK, or 80's station, just wait. The best is yet to come. Milkncookies/Monti. You are the best. Keep it up girl.

Actually, you posted that all of the "steller" talent on Movin' would show up after the first of the year. Would you like me to re-post that for you?

Saying that Jack needs to add talent shows how little you know about the Jack concept. And to promote it through marketing? You'd be accelerating its demise.

AQH, your testosterone is showing! I did stay the stellar talent would show up after the first of the year. Two have arrived and mornings on the way. Sorry if they all didn't start exactly on Jan 2. At the time MOVIN had no talent and everyone just assumed it would be like JACK.

IF the JACK concept is to go without talent and the same production and voicework forever, then it will die. Just look around the Country. You have to continually expand a new format or the public loses interest. That is the lesson of JACK. Some JACK's have added talent, but why argue with you. Board ops with attitude, you got to love it.

Gets difficult to reconcile/make up all of the stuff you've posted on here, doesn't it?

The point being is with your prior posts, saying the "steller" talent would be hired after the first of the year, you either were A: saying that the two people that were hired are not good. Or B: You really don't know what you're talking about. I would wager my board-op paycheck to the latter.

Why argue with me? Sorry to burst your ego because someone calls shenanigans to what you claim.

Got to go, the local commercial break is coming up.

This time I MEAN It......

mama and AQH .... don't MAKE me pull this car over ..... I swear to God I'll make you BOTH get out and walk ..........

" Board ops with attitude, you got to love it."
(Quote from Mamma)

Ms. Mamma, recently you implied AQH was a PD here in town, and now because you are frustrated by how often he is absolutely "dead-on" with his posts, you are indicating he is a board-op. You have also lashed out at AQH several times concerning the fact that you think he is a man and he is trying to "keep you down". What does his sex have to do with anything on this board? Here is my frustration with you Ms. Mamma...you continually provide us with information about KQMV that only someone at the upper level of the "Seattle Team" (which consists of Marc Kaye, Alan Burns, and the PD) would be privy to, but you also insist you have nothing to do with the station. So either you are lying about your employment at the Factoria Mall Radio Supercenter or you are lying about the information you are posting on here. Which is it Ms. Mamma?

It is official!

SEATTLE---
10 people on this board care about a particular Movin' personality and no one else in Seattle cares anymore.
