Movin's rating

Great comments Laffer!! Harlow if given time, could have put KFRC on track!! I never met the guy, I did call him and talked on numerous occasions to commend him for doing the "New Format"!!! I will never understand why you need a "Movin" format here! Etta James yes, When Sue Hall played that, and "Hes A Rebel" Crystals 1962 hit, I was taken by surprise, How many times do you want to hear "Build Me Up Buttercup"? that had to be Cammy and Deans theme song, they Overplayed it!!With Bob Harlow, KFRC could have really done well, New DJ s too!! Dean And Cammy, out, John Mack Flanagan in! Jo jo Kincaid, No bring inn"Lee Baby Sims" lets have some fun!! These Bo-zos at CBS are penny wise and $$$ foolish with their Station!! Now days you have to pay to hear Oldies, If KFRC could have been run by Harlow, then I wouldnt need XM or Sirius! I would save 12.95 twice!! Someone needs to listen to what people want and its not C and D or the other ones, If your going to play music that "Takes you Back' hire the guys who took you there in the 70 s!!! KFRC only had one "Morning Duo" that was worth listening to "Gary Bryan and J. Paul Emerson!!! and Afternoons were John Mack Flanagan!! Middays "Lee Sims"!!!!!! I would pay to hear these guys on again!!Kenny in Concord

Now here are some songs I would like to hear on an oldies station:

Rosie and The Originals/Angel Baby
Sir Douglas Quintet/She's about a mover
Sonny and the Sunliners/Put me in Jail
El Chicano/Tell her she's lovely
Malo/Suaceto
Leslie Gore
Crystals
Dramatics/In the rain
Temptations/
Herb Albert
Renee and Renee
Mickey and stlvia/Love is strange
Delfonics
The Originals
Santa Esmerlda
Chicago
Santana/Europa
The Bells/Stay awhile
The Intruders

Lkeller, very well put!! KFRC will regret their move to "Movin" they got to know they have driven their ex listeners to XM or Sirius!! And you hit the nail on the head, John Mack Flanagan, Bobby Ocean , are what kept KFRC listeners like me! I dreaded every day the thought of having to listen to Ron Parker and Blackstone!! You have to wonder what did these people think ? They were boring and KFRC was your only choice!! On XM Terry Motormouth Young is really a drag, at 3 o"clock I switch to the 70 s channel for Bobby Ocean, much better radio!! Personally I wish they (XM) would move John mack Flanagan into Terrys slot and i wrote to XM s John Zeller to let him know!! Un like the Cammy and Dean show with XM i need not listen to only 1 show cause you only have 1 choice! XM has choices! John Zeller I know you read these, what is 2007 gonna be like @ XM ? Whatever you do please dont put on the EX KFRC Morning Show, I would cancel my Subsciption!!You need more DJ s so be sure and hire the ones Ive requested!! Kenny in Concord 6 XM s and 1 Sirius! My 74 Year old mother lives in Antioch Calif. when KFRC switched formats I got her XM !! Shes on SSI and couldnt afford it !! So i pay for her , nothing i wouldnt do for mom!! And shes been listening to KFRC for years .!!! And like her son she enjoys "Real Talent" AKA John Mack Flanagan!!

XM Radio.....i'm not so sure Movin will regret the format flip. Though its way too early to tell, the women i know tell me they and their friends all listen to Movin. To me that's a good sign they are hitting their target demo. I've even noticed myself (UGH, can't believe I'd admit it) stopping on Movin when i hit the scan button.

So they could be on to something.

Is a station that uses Sir Mix-A-Lot's "Baby Got Back" on their TV spots really serious about a female demo?

Yes. I'm guessing you've never done any music research with women. Huge with women who like rhythmic. I'm also pretty sure there must be a few in the Bay Area.

Also...although it's trend today is down...which you'd expect as the classic hits/oldies folks fall away, the 2nd month extrapolation is much improved over 1st month. The numbers are small..but growing.

Women may like the format but(pun intended!) the tv spots are the LAMEST in recent memory!!!

At the very least, show butts worth watching!

The "Movin'" spot is national (I'm sure..) Those butts are probably from Cleveland!
-John - (we've got better butts here!)

John you are correct those Butts are imported...every market that bought the Movin
format got those Butts...They also got "Brad and Taysia" The Movin Talkin Heads.

I guess if you Buy Movin the box it comes in says...Contains Butts and Heads, some
assembly required...Just Add Call letters and Xmtr. and managment with no ideas. :)

Our butts are better, however, I've been lookin for mine since I was 40. I think I left it
in an old pair of pants. ;)

Ive seen commercials for radio before, Never have I seen a more lame, meaningless commercial than MOVIN 99.7 !! Those butts shaking on my screen are repulsive!! Im not a fan of Cammy and Dean , but I would rather listen to a hour of them than see that Movin commercial! CBS you need a new ad agency!! Good luck with your format Doug Harvill, Ive added Sirius to my Satelite entertainment, the Sirius Gold ch 5 is Great! This station sounds like KRLA 1110 am Pasadena, And they play the songs Humble Harv and Art Laboe used to play ! Kenny in Concord
