alan, thought the I95 sounded pretty good, the prod ,especially, voice was very good.song they played at the end (xmas) didn't do the clip much justice.years ago we set up processing using heatwave's grooveline (good ole disco).check that tune out,it has a little bit of everything in the spectrum.the aphex mark 3 is a good unit.i had one of the older Mark one's and it did not work good for CHR.Heck i was using it with a composite clipper and the competition was blowing my doors off.that's when i moved to the omnia 3t and now the 6.now i must confess that 8500 analog has raised my curiosity.and in all fairness to the dsp-extra, it's a great little box, running the ac preset for oldies station.i think what happened on some of the early dsp-x units, the presets were set using the 50 pre-emph and as you know that won't fly in the good ole USA, it caused some of the presets to be way over the top.the extra can sound orban or omnia depending on how you set it up.i think Mr Foti is concerned with the methodology used here and that merits concern, but hey we're having fun and the fact is these boxes can be set up for different taste.i remember when i built a AM years ago, i was tired and just asked the other eng to set up the processor.man, that was a huge mistake.signed on the next day, it sounded like a juke box.didn't take me long to tweak it, but to him it sounded great.SUBJECTIVETY..big issue in processing
