B&B is not going to expand to one hour, Brad Bell has already been approached about doing that and has declined. Y&R has done so well at 12:30 ET I’d be shocked if CBS changed its timeslot. I think big question is will The Gates air at 1:30 PM ET with Y&R as its lead in? That makes most sense to me. That leaves the 2 PM timeslot for B&B, The Talk and/or something else. Why not cut Deal in half and have it follow Price and get rid of the flex schedule...

They wouldn’t.Why would the locals give up their noon news?
Not sure if if say confirmed as in the interview it was stated not sure yetIn other news, The Gates has been confirmed to as an hour long show and the CBS president discusses it with some depth here in Vulture:
No and NoYeah. I don't know where the summaries are any more, but when I could find them, Victor and Nikki were either breaking up or getting remarried, and Jabot was taking over Newman or Newman was taking over Jabot.
My mom watched the show (and B&B when it debuted) right through to when she died. In the later days, they’d be on while we visited as it was a familiar-to-her presence as other things faded in her memory. I think the 80s was the last time I saw the shows enough to quickly grasp the plots. And they’re the same stories with the same people on the same sets. So unless they suddenly revamped everything in two years, they’re still pretending it’s 1983.No and No
Some of the same people, smaller or downsized sets and as the characters have and use laptops and smartphones, definitely not 1983.And they’re the same stories with the same people on the same sets. So unless they suddenly revamped everything in two years, they’re still pretending it’s 1983.
Or whether Nikki and Victor are together or broken up.I have believed for several years that all you have to know about Y&R is whether Victor or Jack is running Jabot this week, and all you have to know about B&B is which Forrester male Brooke is with this week. I swore off both those shows years ago.
Here's the explanation for B&B's one year renewal. It is very curious that CBS only took a 1 year extension on B&B. Y&R's has been a rating juggernaut for decades and CBS clearly has faith in it. Hopefully "The Gates" will be a success. It's good to see a new soap being developed.
If both The Talk and B&B are cancelled, CBS might sell the half hour back to their stations much like ABC did back in 2003 after cancelling the GH spinoff Port CharlesHere's the explanation for B&B's one year renewal.

Looking at the season to date ratings (total viewers) for the soaps, I don't see why CBS would consider cancelling B&B.If both The Talk and B&B are cancelled, CBS might sell the half hour back to their stations much like ABC did back in 2003 after cancelling the GH spinoff Port Charles
I guess The Talk's fate hangs in the balance amid struggle at parent ParamountLooking at the season to date ratings (total viewers) for the soaps, I don't see why CBS would consider cancelling B&B.
Y&R 3.4m
B&B 2.9m
GH. 2.2m
I wish they would do that, cancel the Talk but keep B&B and make The Gates 30 minutes. If both The Talk and B&B are cancelled, CBS might sell the half hour back to their stations much like ABC did back in 2003 after cancelling the GH spinoff Port Charles
No this is not an early April Fools joke at all:
