Indie was not a real success by any metric. The time of some sales success came under the Clear Channel JSA and then the ensuing KDAY / Roy & Co. JSA. When the JSAs came to an end, the billing died.

I never really said that Indie's billing was "succesful", I said that if she had made it run as far as it did, because of its poor ratings and weak signal, she has talent selling something very few advertisers would be interested in, although the CBS cluster is the best selling cluster in LA, she has some work already cut out for her.

KROQ and KCBS sell the hell out of other stations. KRTH and KAMP probably do very well as well. And apparently KTWV still bills well. CBS bills well in LA

Your statement was the it is the "best selling cluster in LA." That statement is inaccurate. And neither KROQ nor KCBS is the top billing station in the market. Do they do well? Not nearly as well as they used to...but still decently. But that's different from what you asserted.

In turn, where's your evidence that they're not the best? KIIS might have billed the most last year, but I'm sure some of that billing is now being shared with the addition of AMP.

KIIS might have billed the most last year, but I'm sure some of that billing is now being shared with the addition of AMP.

Stations bill in a rather direct relationship with the audience they deliver... if KIIS has approximately the same delivery as it has had over time, it will bill in the same proportion. If Amp has increased in audience, most of its billing will come from stations that are lower rated or which have declined considerably.

2008 CC LA cluster revenue roughly $278 million. CBS, with fewer stations, did just over $200 million.

$200 million for having fewer stations is still very excellent. I'm sure if CBS did have the same amount of FM stations, they could technically match or pass CC's revenue. KAMP has the potential to be a big biller, I've been noticing that they've been dropping the "Less Commercials than KIIS FM Every Hour" pre-roll lately, and ads have been increasing.

But what percentage of the CBS profit is from their AM stations? I wouldn't be surprised if it was less than $10-15 million for both KNX and KFWB. KLAC without Lakers basketball is nothing, CC might as well broker it if they still want to maintain KLAC money...
