New Liners for Jack FM

Unless you have compelling facts to disprove this, it is the truth that this formats MUSIC (and voice dude) is supposed to do the talking. No requests, no jocks, no interaction.

Repeated from a post above....

How long has KJKK Dallas been on and can you read me off their entire airstaff? If the flagship is any indication....... the 1 solo on air person is in AM Drive and she is not even the AM Drive person. Their web site pegs her as.... " Brenda brings the news and traffic. " Very comforting.

Read above.

I am going to repeat, I have no problem with Jack or the concept. I do have a problem when people are misinformed or try to avoide the truth.

JACK Canada is you "friend", JACK is cool.

JACK US, it has been made clear within the industry, that they will be jockless for as long as possible and when the jockless phase wears off, you will find low key liner readers. (Both aimed at lowest common denominator and money saving measures). <P ID="signature">______________

"We Don't Care About The Cubs....104.3, Jack FM!"

"Chicago Is The 'Windy City' Because Of All The Hot Air We Broadcast From This Radio Station.......104.3, Jack FM".

"Doing Our Part To Boost Viacom's Stock Price.......104.3, Jack FM!"

And this classic:

"Listeners Be Dam**d.......104.3, Jack FM!"

The Truth Pt 2

Please tell us where that's been "made clear within the industry".

And, when you consider that most stations who've gone JACK (or similar) likely have talent contracts to pay off, some for multiple years- so, where is the "money saving measure" there?

still don't get it

Two key words here: "so far". Jack/Dallas notwithstanding, most have not been on long enough to know exactly where this format needs to go or where it will go. Three more key words: "way too early".

No radio format is in it's fully-developed form in the first month, first 6 months and many not even in the first year. Many are (wrongly) assuming that what you hear today is "it". And that isn't close to being true. So, unless you're actually overseeing all these stations from a corporate position or are Ms. Cleo, you can't claim with any certainty how they'll eventually look.

Besides, other non-Jack versions of Variety Hits indeed have talent (Phoenix and San Diego, to name a few).

I`m beginning to think Infinity locked up Perry, Brown,
Winston and Biondi along with a few select weekenders so
no other conglomerate got the brilliant idea to start up
another oldies station. Once the threat of a new FM oldies
signal abates, watch for Infinity to start buying out the
contracts and shedding payroll.

Just remember while Chicago was the exception to the rule,
in most markets, JACK or BOB or DAVE has put hundreds of
jocks on the beach nationwide. You may tell me it`s an
unintentional side benefit of these "first name" formats
that they have no cost factor for talent, but I`m still
thinking the bigwigs know exactly what they`re doing.

Actually... No-competes are unenforcable for contracted talent in the state of Illinois.

Playing a ton of 80s hair metal, because we saw some guys with a mullet the other day...and they host our morning show leftover from the last format...we're 98-7 Simon (Entercom Greensboro's JACK ripoff, and complete-piece-of-crap-waste-of-a-100K-big-stick)
