New Rock station coming to DFW?

Regular weekend programming, including repeats of News Junkie.
i think they will keep the weekend programing on, then start Stunting Monday Morning with the new format launching at 5 PM as radio stations typically do. and the funny thing is, the station going to rock right before the 20th anniversary of the first death of The Eagle as it flipped in May 2004.

Video 2

If you're trying to demonstrate the upcoming format and this is what you play in order, you're already showing your weaknesses.

Linkin Park - NO
Nirvana - Once a month maybe
Cage the Elephant - LOL NO
Red Hot Chilli Peppers - Torn but lean NO
GnR - OLD ASS GNR and we're tired of it
Seether - I'll give you this one
Metallica - Yes
Staind -Yes
Pearl Jam - SOMETIMES
Tool - YES
Finger Eleven - YES
Foo Fighters - YES
Soundgarden - YES
AC/DC - ONLY SOMETIMES

It isn't laughable but it's not there yet.

I was kind of hoping for a shot at the freak. Maybe a sound drop from one of the old shows? But, its no big deal

Agreed. In my opinion the first words said should have been an apology. Not only for the freak but for the times it's been done before.

Well song 1 was from 1986 and the 2nd one from 1980 and the 3rd from 2005. If it's a classic rock leaning format, it's going to do as good as the Eagle did last time. Too early to say that, but . . .

I think we’ll see it do better. dallas has always been the strongest active rock market. This is iHeart returning the favor to audacy for the fan “surviving” while the freak didn’t. iHeart was never seriously going to waste their time building another format from the ground up after they just did and failed

This isn't Active Rock though. Classic Active Rock at best. 1 current song in 2.5 hours does not a "current" station make, especially when every other song has been AT LEAST 19 years old.

So far, this seems to assume that Dallas WAS an active rock market, and they are trying to capitalize on the nostalgia of the fact that Dallas used to be an active rock market.

Because we’re getting hung up on semantics and formalities…

It’s best to describe KEGL as mainstream, not active, rock.

Is Foo Fighters being played on rural radio right now? I’m trying to confirm because I see two web apps. I’m trying to confirm which one is actually the actual station since I’m listening on iHeart leaving work
