I don't know, I think there is a demand to see the old hosts talk again on the FM dial. After the downturn is over, do you think CBS would ever invest in this format ever again?radiojomo said:97.1's signal is excellent. What can be better than a Mount Wilson FM? Hot Talk is just too expensive to run right now with radio revenues down. Why do you think every new talk station around the country is running syndicated programming? There was a big combo of things that happened to de-throttle KLSX. Ratings, lack of programming syndication and most importantly REVENUE. You can't say that KLSX never brought in revenue. KLSX billed in more than enough revenue for the almost whole decade it ran. Do you think CBS would have kept it if it didn't make any revenue? CBS is just a smart company and know when their investment (running a Hot Talk format) is finally not producing enough. It was not CBS's fault, it was the advertisers fault. There was no advertisers (because of the economic downturn; cuts in advertising budgets), therefore no money, therefore no money to run the station, therefore no station. I'm sure CBS runs the new station at the price they paid (or still pay) Tom Leykis just to rant about how stupid women are. It was just an economic decision and it obviously paid off. Top 10 in less than 3 months. #1 in 18-34. At the FRACTION of the costs of KLSX? What can be better than that? Plus, it seems that almost all the personalities from KLSX are moving on or still producing content so what are the listeners really missing? Download the podcasts and plug them into an iPod! Sure, no Tom Leykis...but he'll come around soon, just you watch.musicfan101 said:I think with proper advertising (something in which KLSX lacked) it could work and bring in a lot of revenue. Also, remember that 98.7 is simulcasted in the High Desert, a lot of the demo in which KLSX tried to appeal to lives out there. Not to mention 98.7's signal is far better than 97.1's. Also, I wonder if CBS would ever be open to simulcasting AMP on another station in the High Desert so it could mess with KIIS a little more, or move it over to 93.1 (which is a little better)?
