Nobody's talking about WJSE?

You do have to wonder about the long-term future of WJSE. When they move to downtown Atlantic City with a highly directional signal, their "really good signal" (i.e. building/at-work penetration and $9 alarm clocks) is going to be in the Atlantic City - Ventnor - Pleasantville - Absecon area -- not exactly home to a lot of alternative rock fans. This isn't just a transmitter move!

One has to ponder that Atlantic will make a move that makes any sense based on the moves they have made since taking over. It almost seems they changed too much too soon. It reminds me of when Coke came up with the "new Coke" and based on the latest book it seems they should stop re-inventing the wheel and get back to basics.

Go to la fiesta's website and stream their broadcast. On their URL, their call letters say WJSE-FM. This goes the same for partymusicleader.com, except their call letters on their URL say WMGM-FM.

Someone reported that Dave & Jerry, as well as Jo-Jo from the morning show are out. Looks like its time to get them recorders and enjoy JSE as much as you can.

Looks like Carrociola's leaks are already starting. Beware JSE affiliates...the reflection from his teeth will blind you as the knife slides into your back. JSE will be history soon and anyone on staff who thinks they're safe is in for a rude awakening.

John will quickly learn that South Jersey is not NY. Why not just publicly state that he's scrapping JSE to take his am based LaFiesta format to the FM dial so JSE fans can get "them" recorders out now! And rock fans, John's leak indicates that the "party" is over, or is it just beginning?...classic rock WMGM/The Shark will soon become home of the underground NY dance and hip hop that we've never heard in South Jersey. The artists apparently paying John to play their underground tracks in NY are likely planning to expand their business in South Jersey. Maybe good for John's wallet in the short term, but watch corporate's response to JC as he drives these stations right into the ground!

JSE has been struggling for 5 years or more. Would anyone really be shocked to see it go?

Do you seriously believe WMGM is going "underground NY dance and hip-hop" based on a web rumor? 103.7 is their top moneymaker. You'd see them flip 102.7 and 98.3 first and I sincerely doubt either of those will flip to "underground NY dance and hip-hop".

I can imagine your rants when The Buzz and Hot 106.3 was a "underground NY" format as you put it. ::)

Seems to me in the ratings that TKU is now the top biller for Atlantic, and all the support for classic rock is going to...ZXL. Yea, 103.7 WAS their top moneymaker. Safe to say swap TKU to 103.7 since WJRZ has departed from Ocean County.

One rating book doesn't necessarily mean a huge change in billings, and 103.7 usually beats 98.3. Also 103.7 has a more desirable format for advertisers. Classic Rock gets younger listeners than the Oldies on 98.3. If there's a change in the building, 102.7 will be first to go and 103.7 would be the one to keep.

Safe to say swap TKU to 103.7 since WJRZ has departed from Ocean County.

WMGM has never gotten ratings in Ocean County. They're a non-factor there.

Would it be rude to answer that question by asking you to refer to my handle?

Last one out of that failed experiment leave the light on...or rather don't so they can save on electric bills.

After the announcement of the new WILD station KISS 99.3 did exactly what we thought they would. The wild liners are rolling and the music has changed. Cant wait to hear both stations play the same song at the same time. Vic that is great radio glad you found a hole. No one is playing usher !!! Thats what happens when you dont know programming and get your music from record company gifts and the Billboard charts. Look for the new air staff to hit KISS asap and them to become more aggressive promotionally. Cant wait to hear Ben blazing my afternoons recorded from a production room the night before. Hey new guys did you think they would lay down. With all the attention on WILD you forgot about your money maker that continues to drop (SHARK and KOOL). Now that you built your CHR clubhouse youll have a place to live when everything crashes around you. Thanks for the beer money enjoy the new surf shops that will buy $10 spots. Were laughing at you. See you in the fall ratings !!!

Yeah this stinks. You know it was almost a year ago that BCN in Boston went off the air, who would have thought JSE would die. We keep losing our rock stations one by one.

That's why radio is sinking, nobody knows how to run a station. The people who do, just get weeded out and anyone today playing by the numbers is going to fail.

Yeah this does sound like someone that used to work at Atlantic, he has made many comments in other posts to lead us to believe he is once worked there.
Who ever he is, he sounds very bitter and down right childish. I wonder how his knew boss would feels if he knew he were on here talking like this. It's a shame this board has turned to this. Some of us actually have conversations on other boards but not here. Just a lot of finger pointing and bashing.

Here is the bottom line about JSE, great music (for certain listeners)...BUT it did not make $$$$, no matter who ran it! After Howard Stern left FM radio, many of those types of stations failed. Just ask us here up north.

Generic business rule...If a Burger joint comes up with a "special new burger" and it does not sell, they try another "special" item until it makes money.
So good luck to whoever is trying something new with that company...after all, it's still a business.

Keep on protecting your covenant WAYV with boring tracks and lousy $hits. And KissFM still sounds the same watered down rhythmic. I can see if The Buzz was still around to compete to. Great job demising that brand. ::)
