Note necessarily a "new" topic......Nassau sale

Books Cooked? Nah! Comon'! I still have not seen an announcment on 102.3 or an FCC filing on the divestiture stuff. The transfer to Summeraeu and Birch was upheld by the courts though and Nassau can legally make that happen so something might happen now that Goldman has been given the keys.

Where is Brian Naro now?

I've heard that Silberberg is trying to make 105.7 in Plymouth a simulcast of WEEI. The River is just not selling there.

I beleive Mr. Naro is still with Nassau.

Silverberg beleives 105.7 is worth a million bucks. They've tried to unload it but it's worthless as a stand alone. Can't reach into the lakes regions and really only covers Plymouth. Very weak signal. It's worth more to him as an add on to his So. NH / No. Mass. clients. I think Pete DeTone and Jordan Walton were hired to make a go of it with split spots. In today's market I would value it at around $150K at most. Some local operator can come up with some cash and play with it... As for WEEI simulcast I thought Mr. Shapiro was putting tht on 101.5?

The 99.1 Henniker and 101.5 Meredith are both dark and have been for a few weeks. Both are now owned by a divestiture trust. I don't know when (or even if) Great Eastern will close on them. I'm hearing there are number of issues in the Keene and Lebanon clusters that are taking up management time.

AND...the mysterious guy from Pennsylvania (Andrew Summereau) has 102.3. Also off the air.

Is WWHK off again? When did it go dark? I've seen no application for another silent STA.

102.3 went dark a few weeks ago when the big wind/rain storm hit. I beleive that it was originating from the transmitter site in Concord and when the power came back, no one turned back on the computer. That's my guess. It still belongs to Vox until Summereau closes on it. Also the legal wranglings ended in December that gave Nassau the right to assaign the license even though they don't own it. I've heard that Mr. Shapiro has an agreement to buy it along with 99.1 and 101.5 and move everything (including 107.7) to Hooksett.

102.3 simulcasting 107.7 for a month now... Wasn't the transfer supposed to have closed by now?

Money? No money involved. Transfer of control. They spent $250K+ to file all 51 stations with the FCC. What else do they have to spend money on... Lawyers?

Sumerau is a former GM/Regional something for Nassau.

He ran the Poconos cluster in the late 90's and then they moved him around for awhile.

He left the company but should be seen as a front for Nassau interests in the Granite State.

With Nassau, nothing is as it seems. I spent 5 of the worst years of my professional life with them watching them decimate not just one but 5 local, heritage markets and now they're doing the same in Northern New England and the Cape

Anytime Nassau becomes involved in local radio, say goodbye to Community service and live-programming.

Just thought you all should know.

Each of their 51 stations had to file for transfer of control with the FCC. Granted earlier this year.
The filing fee alone Should have been around $250K. the lawyers would be a seperate fee. Add that on to the $250K and I would not be surprised if the bill was up to $500K by now.

$500K?

Goldman Sachs spends that for an afternoon golf outing for thei executives don't they?

I think you may be right. My wallet feels a heck of a lot lighter and I haven't purchased anything, other than food, in the past year... So I think you're on to something here...

;D
