Oldies On The Internet

I discovered another great UK only hit "Wild Horse" by (American singer) Dee Clark. It has an amazing hook. The strange thing is that it gave me a "oh wow I haven't heard this song in ages" sensation. Yet I couldn't have ever heard it before because this 1975 song never charted in the U.S (perhaps the lyrics were considered too risque?). Interestingly Dee's only big U.S hit "Raindrops" from the early 60s did not chart in the UK.

BTW I heard this song on an awesome internet radio station I discovered...ORS Radio-Disco. If you like disco at all search for this station. They play the biggest variety of eras and styles of anything that could be remotely classified as disco. Great mix of hits and obscure stuff. Of course I listen for the obscure.

Regarding Sandi Shaw fans...
Girl Don't Come (highest on Billboard charts) #42 on 3/6/65.
Always Something There To Remind Me #52 on Bilboard on 11/28/64
and LONG LIVE LOVE #97 on 6/12/65. Long Live Love was only on Billboard for THREE WEEKS, but well worth a listen. The song is available on You Tube and is one of my favorites.

Mariane Faithful known for As Tears Go By #22 (11/64), Come Stay With Me #26 (2/65) , Summer Nights #24 (8/65) and This Little Bird # 32 (6/65)...
These are all songs that never made it to the top 10, or top 20, but are great songs to listen to and probably missed by most programmers, that are looking to play the same songs (TOP 5 hits) into the ground.

Two other really good sounding stations: WCNY HD2

and WGVU 1480 and 850 I`d wish that WCNY would suscribe

to the wi-fi radio listings. It is a very good listen.
