Omnia vs Orban Video

Priceless! ;D

R

Funny... I think I saw this video on Youtube much b4 Omnia published it on their website...
Anyway (now a bit of OT) if we consider the video itself as an advertisement it would be considered ilegal under the Advertisement Code... here in Portugal ;D Because it mentions directly the name of the contender(s)
About the video itself... pro actors would give a nicer touch to it

That's probably true, but I quite liked the amateurish acting. ;)

Yes, Omnia often resorts to bashing of competitors in their ads and promotional campaings. I guess they think that making someone else look bad, is going to make themselves look good. A pretty bad tactic if you ask me, but it's their choice. It's something that I personally don't like and puts me off.

For me, putting this video up is just another addition to their recent string of promotional debacles...

no, basically its just poking fun at a competitor using good ole COMPARATIVE ADVERTISING( the correct marketing term). All the ad agencies do this now and have been for years in the USA with good results for the most part.

Get a life!! These ads are a fun spoof, just like those hot babe ads they're running right now! Guess you never saw the "Mac vs. PC" ads, which by the way, are noted to be some of the best marketing ever!!

Maybe you should just come out and admit you're a shill for the other guys. You pick on Omnia all the time. I remember that orban actually started all of this, years ago by publishing wrongful papers about Omnia, as well as putting 'attack' ads in trade mags. But, all you care to do is pick on the 'other' guy.

You gotta check this video out on Omnia's web page.

I have always been an admirer of Omnia's marketing but that video makes me cringe. I shouldn't be given a competitor advice but your previous marketing was classy. The latest stuff with the woman on the bar stools and now this video is a backwards step IMHO.

I wonder if they switched marketing agencies????

My 2 cence worth as a customer as well as a competitor.

Scott

ha. who's picking on who?

Must say the video leaves a bad taste in my mouth, and I'm using an Omnia

Wonder if Bill Gates whines about those "Mac vs. PC" ads. :)

I haven't ever seen one of them but perhaps those ads were pro-produced. The Omnia video is so amateurish that seems to me that it's trying to sell snake oil :'( I would suspect of a company with such a video promoting their products. Different countries, different cultures, perhaps ;)

Oh good grief..

If you liked the ad, that's cool! If you didn't like it, that's also cool!

But turning this into a politically correct debate is silly. I'm sure Bob Orban can counter with his own ad campaign, poking fun at Omnia.

I'm an Orban fan myself, but I still found the ad funny.

Oh good grief...The video is stupid. Two Goobers pretending their "audio processors".

Hey Foti how about making a video using those hot babes you used in your print adds!

;D

If we were to reply, I would make sure that the Omnia guy's voice sounded distorted and that it had a different spectral balance each time he spoke :)

I agree. I've always prefered Orban. And I prefer PC to Mac. Yet I think the Omnia video and the Mac ads are funny. Bob, I like your idea for a reply. Come on folks, lighten up!

Processors and computer systema both generate religious fervor... for no good reason that I can see.
Before we get too exorcised over this or that ad, let's remember, most of us here make our living off the sale of advertising. Surely bashing it isn't in our best interests.

Bob Orban

Looks like Bob brought his flyswatter. He must have woke up from his nap. Guess if Omnia wanted to be nasty, they'd have had the orban guy flubby, dull, packed up, and possess that edgy, steely, grindy clippy sound they are known for.

Now that you mention PC vs Mac ads... I think that this video is actually a big compliment to Orban.

Do you think Apple would need those ads if it was Mac owing 98% of the market and PC 2%, instead of the other way around?

If Omnia was in fact better than Orban, they wouldn't even care about them... They wouldn't need to keep pounding on why is Orban a bad, bad wolf. They'd be successful, selling well, looking forward and would have no reason whatsoever to pick on anybody.

But the need to bash Orban so often, is because that is not so. Orban is apparently doing very well, their processors and sound people actually like and prefer on many stations (for a good reason) and they are taking a large market share.

You can always know you're doing well when a competition mentions you in their ads ;)
