Oops, he did it again...

And ... we expected what?

Shock & awe because the I-man let loose with what you know what will be said, "What the hell did he say wrong?" or that the trade media and the boards say, "Well, Imus inferred something racial?"

That's nothing. This is nothing. This is stupidity.

The real story isn't even "what's the next time bomb about to go off with Imus sometime in the next four years of his contract?"

The story is ...

Who in the name of all smartness had the gumption out of nothing but greed, dollar signs and "do it before someone else does it," put 68 year old Don Imus behind a microphone AGAIN in the first place?

The story is about the guy who's company has gone from $11 a share to $1.42 a share today .... and who saw his stock go to $1.00 a share just a few weeks ago.

Farid Suleman of Citadel / ABC. The next "programmer's programmer." And, include others in the Citadel fortress from wife, Judy Ellis, on down to those, like Phil Boyce, who had to swallow the deal and make nice in the trade press about how "great" a deal this would be in bringing the I-Man back.

All the while knowing that the likes of Michael Calderone at "Politico.com" and others have tape rolling every day in wait ... no, in KNOWING ... that Imus is a ticking time bomb.

Is this the end? Hell, now.

But the next one will be when he totally explodes like the bomb everyone KNOWS he is.

Don't be upset by what he said or so carefully tried not to "negatively" infer. Be upset knowing that he was thrown under the buss by corporate greed, a $5-million dollar, five year contract and all the perks to do ... exactly ... what everyone knew he would do and will do again.

The trade press is wanting "reaction" to a non-story.

The reaction should be to Citadel ... asking, "Why?"

you are right his listeners have left him alone, and imus just is trying to get his listeners back ....but he is using the wrong tact

Oh for God's sake. Can't people just leave him alone?

Sharks are smelling blood...the spin doctors are hard at work making what he meant into something totally different...

You don't have to listen to Imus. [EDIT] Or, there's always the compelling exciting WOR - maybe Joan Hamburg will pop in. How about one of the "classic rock" or "alternative" or "mix" stations playing the same songs you have in your private CD collections available forlistening any time. There's the wacky "MOrning Zoo" - wow, did he say "armpit" bwahahaha. And if that isn't enough choice, I bet WICC has a new rummage sale at some local church to tell you about.

Imus is funny - sometimes insulting or stirring - but he is still funny. Which of the above would you rather hear.

[EDIT-baiting content]

All the last (deserved) protest did was get Idiot-Man a new radio deal and some fresh publicity for his tired act.

The best course of action...is no action at all. There are much bigger fish to fry with the 2008 election.

Pass on Imus. Last time he was funny was '82... yeah, and he had a few good lines during the midterm elections in 94. Dude stayed too long at the fair. Hmmm. Considering the choices... that rummage sale show has possibilities. BTW, saw some clips of Carlin on the news today. Amazing how much better he looked than Imus as few a three months ago... and tomorrow, he'll still look better than Imus... and be more funny.

As far as looking better goes, when the Queen Mother died, Imus had a string of laught. McGuirk quipped Imus was starting to look like Queen Elizabeth. Imus asked why the funeral procession was so long ("How long are they gonna drag this woman around?") When they defended the Queen MOther for staying in Buckingham Palace while the Germans bombed it, Imus shot back, "Sure how else would she have someone to serve her afternoon tea?"

This is the greatest post I've ever read. You are the man. Right on.

2 things...

1) [EDIT]

2) This Imus situation sounds like when someone gave my Grandpa car keys after his accident. It shouldn't have happened!! ABC radio deserved what they got!!

Nuff said!

RACIST??? NOT HARDLY......

Listen to the I-man get racial once again! About :30 in.

WOW....can't believe they're jumpin on this one. Imus...clearly said they were picking on the guy just
because he is black! Why do you think Sharpton said he would wait to decide on this one. Because he
wasn't clear on what Imus meant. It's so hilarious that everyone jumped on this story so fast!

When folks are out to get you, they will jump on anything. This is clearly not a non-issue

I hope the media call off the dogs now.
This was never a real issue, it was a comment pointing out police predjudice.
"Hey, it's a famous athelete! He must be guilty!"
(not saying pac-man is always innocent or perfect, but 6 arrests?)

I've become a bigger fan of the show since the change to WABC. I find
the racial discussions very interesting personally, but it's not something that will make news.
Did you hear the first time Dr. Debra Dickerson was on with Imus? WOW
That was something.
It's too bad that our sensationalized, over-hyped media is all too happy to oblige and
glorify old sterotypes, scare everyone by dropping terror into everything possible
and bring us all the news of everything wrong with humanity.
(terrorist fist-bump?) WTF?!?!?!??!
Balance the coverage a bit will ya?

And stop crucifying Imus already.
No one wants to talk about the fact that women playing basketball
isn't exactly attractive to watch. We as a society expect women to always be
sexy, skinny blah blah blah...
And the N.H.H.'s comment was based in that thought process.
Have you watched women's college softball on ESPN 4, 5 or "the ocho"?
They don't give scholarship based on looks, that is for certain.
And that is a good thing! They want to win games!

"Sharks are smelling blood"..."when folks are out to get you"...

Excuse me, but when did Imus become Jesus Christ?

I've heard countless stories of Imus' rampant racist comments behind the scenes throughout the years. He is what he is, and every once in a while it bubbles up to the surface. And it will again.

Leave Imus alone, he's an old old old man. Be glad he is still breathing, though you couldn't tell watching him.

He should never have been fired for what he said before and he should not be castigated for what he said this time. If you want DJ's and talk show hosts to be sarcastic and edgy sometimes you get a misspeak. If you don't like it use the knobs or buttons on your radio and move on.

Maybe they should have hired Seacrest instead.

From the audio I heard, all Imus did was ask a question. Would it have mattered if he said " is the guy (football player) white?"

Here is an example where I think PC has been taken too far, plus there obviously people out to get Imus, no matter what he says or does.

I don't hear his show because no local radio station carries it in Rochester, but I did enjoy watching him on MSNBC. Sure he's not the same guy he was back in the 70s or 80s, but then again which among us are the same as we were in our younger days?

It's not a story, much ado about nothing.
Geeze, the guy can't even sneeze without someone jumping on him now.
It wasn't a racist comment, just the opposite. No wonder Stern went to satellite...
