part-time job opening

I had previously posted this on the Mass. Broadcasters website...

WLYN/WAZN has an immediate opening for a part-time board operator/receptionist.
Saturdays, vacation relief/fill-in hours as needed. Must have radio/audio
experience, computer literate, have own transportation, flexible schedule.
Will consider a talented student. This is not an on-air postion - entry level.
Resumes only -please, no phone calls. Email: [email protected]

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants to learn the business

No heavy lifting, pay is fair, the Boss is a decent guy, as well as the rest of the staff.

PC skills, and Spanish or Portuguese as a second language are a plus.

The customers for the most part, are great people and very easy to get along with.

Full disclosure... I did that gig for a while and still do some fill in. If it didn't interfere with my motorcycle and flying time I'd do it again in a heartbeat. You are not going to get famous doing this job, but you'll get hands on experience, without having to chase down dry cleaning and coffee for some "talent"

We can move the couch out of the GM's office into the production studio and you'd have an affordable studio apartment by Boston standards.

Sorry Marc - I don't have any pull with Wal-Mart!
Actually, I have only been to Wal-Mart 3 times
in my life - including twice in Kentucky! ;D

You know, if you had had this job opening in 2000 I would have taken it in a heart beat!

WAZN didn't yet exist in 2000. It was still WSRO in Marlborough back then.

did you know bumping is not allowed... I wonder if grinding is?

Position is still open... Did I mention the unlimited use of the internet while you are not busy with your official duties?

Nice cool air conditioned offices too!

Plenty of parking!

You'll learn the finer points of the Smartcaster automation system, all about the EAS system, public inspection files, just about every method except satellite for getting audio into a radio station, and several ways to get it out to the transmitter sites.

Did I mention the pay is reasonable?

And if you take the job I'll get to stay home on Saturdays!

I think the problem here is that you are taking up space which could be used for threads endlessly complaining of how it is
impossible for a newbie to get job in the business.

You can redeem yourself. If and when you fill the job, start a thread entitled "I have NO part-time job opening." I
think you would be guaranteed 200 responses calling you a heartless Phillistine 'who's part of the problem' and around 2500 pages views.

Regards,
TSB

Would that be "plenty of free parking" like the kind ad writers write in copy when have nothing else to say?????

I'll fill your opening. But you have to let me do it from my house. I don't know how I can board op from my house, but I'll let you figure that one out. I'm sure with computers that anything is possible. I also want 4 weeks paid vacation starting immediately. No need having that hang over our heads. Let's just get it out of the way right from the start. We can further negotiate on my terms after I get back from vacation. Thanks.

How about posting the job with CSB in Needham? I'm sure they know someone who would be all over that.
