Party 105 to lease WNYZ

I've been hearing announcements about Party in the last two hours. Among the songs played include Stevie B's "Party Your Body" and a remix of Eddie Murphy's "Party All The Time". So things are being prepared for the debut.

I had a feeling that the dance sound/format couldn't die or completely disappear, especially NOW in 2009. I figured something would somehow give way and save the day. Without getting into full detail, I'll just say eventually more people will WAKE UP and realize which direction we're headed in... hopefully by the time I get back from London, The U.S. has "caught up" with the rest of the world when it comes to the acceptance and open-mindedness to a true variety of different sounds.

So far, we're headed in the right direction, but... we still have quite a long way to go. I truly believe 2010-2019 will be a much brighter time period for music, and the new generation of kids who are going to be the new force will be the ones to "get things fixed".

Just heard their TOH ID:

WPTY Calverton-Roanoke
WNYZ New York
W268AN Plainview, NY

I thought 101.5 was simulcasting WBON, or did they decide to keep 101.5 the last minute?

It's been reported that the change in 101.5 wasn't going to be immediate with the addition of 87.7 to allow people to transition first, but it will happen.

Vic can't change station policy? He writes the station policy, he co-owns JVC broadcasting.

While the station isn't fully my cup of tea, the fact that a station owner is doing morning drive is very exciting. I'd say he's committed to the station's sound like no other owner in NYC.

Very, very good. I'm pulling for 'em.

(Now if only the alt scene could generate this kind of groundswell...)
