Post your latest DX

Caught WSB 750 off air around 11:30 pm CST. Nothing new heard, just the usual CKJH Melfort, SK and Radio Progreso, Cuba. Apparently they were off due to scheduled transmitter maintenance.

From what is being reported they will be off the air again on Wednesday night after midnight.

Daytime Skywave in Indian River, Michigan Monday around 11:30 AM EST.

1600 WRPN Ripon, WI
1570 WSCO Appleton, WI
1540 KXEL Waterloo, IA
1500 KSTP St. Paul, MI
1420 WOC Davenport, IA
Nice list. It's definitely that time of year...especially for the upper end of the band. If I'm not mistaken, 1570 in Appleton is where the WHBY call letters originally resided. (I may be thinking of something else however).

If I hear WCKY in Cincinnati on 1530, that's my daytime skip indicator.
That would be my idea of a good indicator as well. But...as I discovered a few winters ago at our beach location near Pensacola, you can sometimes encounter the unexpected. On this particular sunny February day, WSM was in. So I checked out 1510 to see if WLAC was also there. To my surprise, not even a trace of it!

Looks like 750 WSB is going off tonight from 12-4AM ET. They were off last night for maintenance too. Many East Coast DXers snagged either R. Progreso Cuba, CBGY NFLD, or CKJH SK in their absence. Maybe someone can snag KAMA, KXTG, or KOAL. Good luck all!

CKJH at weak levels still (on the SDR in Indiana) and something buried, sounds // 640 so Cuba.

Here n NW San Antonio, I heard R. Progreso (new logging for me) at 2:35 CT with songs by Miriam Ramos, Trio Matamoros, and Eusebio Delfin matching the stream. The signal level dropped around 2:47 to the point where splatter from my local on 760 was taking over.

Aiming more N/S at 3:07 (and better nulling the splatter), I heard CKJH fade up with a Guess Who song, Beach Radio ID, and Europe song.

New one for me this morning in advance of next week's FOTW, 1440. KPUR Amarillio, TX with positive ID and ads for local businesses, "All Ag All the Time". Farm-related programming on fop for about 15 minutes beginning at 7am CST.. Fair signal with fades. Distance 873 miles. Presumably 5kw ND day powe. Radio: C Crane Skywave.

A good night for Mexican AND Canadian stations.
XEX 730
XEQ 940
XEG 1050 (Monterrey)
XEEP 1060

CBK 540 Watrous, SK
CKLQ 880 Brandon, MB
CKBI 900 Prince Albert, SK
CFRY 920 Portage la Prairie, MB
CJGX 940 Yorkton, SK

From Cedar Rapids, IA

No new stations (except maybe XEQ, which I may not have caught here before), but most of these are rare enough to mention. Mostly what’s interesting is it was a good night for both our northern and southern neighbor.

Interesting conditions this evening, not as south-focused as it's been recently. First sign was WCCO completely dominating 830 - usually Mexico City is strong here (Houston TX). Mexicans were generally weaker than usual, Cuba strong. Other interesting stuff in 30 minutes of listening:

1360 unID 12/15 1753 w/regional Mexican music in mush w/KKTX, KWWJ and others. Can't find a RM station listed nearby
1490 KPLC TX Paris 12/15 1749 clear ID as "Classic Country 14-90 and 96.3, KPLT" then country song
1610 CHHN Ont Toronto 1736 tropical music //stream, good signal briefly. Best signal from them in a good while.
1690 WVON, IL Chicago 1741 Chicago traffic w/music bed underneath mixing w/presumed WMLB

DFW, Texas — Sangean ATS-909X -- Times are CST.

New stations logged:

750 KAMA TX, El Paso 12/16 0255 Mexican music, regional and pop // stream. WSB off. Fair with fading, mixing with CKJH and R. Progresso.
760 KMTL AR, Sherwood 12/16 0703 Mexican regional music, male and female announcers // stream. Good signal with XEABC and WJR.
930 WSFZ MS, Jackson 12/16 0235 ID "Jackson's 930" BIN news and PSA's. Good signal, alone on freq. Day power perhaps?
1460 KBZO TX, Lubbock 12/10 2150 TUDN Spanish Sports, fair with fading w/KXNO and WXOK.
1590 KVGB KS, Great Bend 11/30 0650 Call letter ID and local weather mixing with Houston's KMIC.

Note - passed station #500 with logging of KVGB, after 1 year of DX. Thinking about what type of external antenna I could add to my Sangean portable, or perhaps add an SDR.

Congratulations! I'm just shy of 400 myself, hope to get there before the end of 2022.

I've thought of getting an external antenna/SDR. However, I'm in a pretty noisy location so much of my DXing takes place in the park down the street, making portability necessary. Plus, I kind of like the challenge of hearing things with only a small portable. It would be nice to be able to DX from inside on cold rainy nights.
