A little less Au than last night. Weak KEX, weak KRKO, KXRO 1320 Aberdeen, etc. and both on top of their channels. But on 1300 at 8:15 PT, it's none other than Adventures in Odyssey again - which matches KROP Brawley CA (500 w), this has been somewhat common in the past month or so!

Same old Same on the AM band, guess I missed it
While going through the 95.3 Spanish-language Christian station recording again, I heard a female DJ giving out a 3664-1541 phone number. A web search turned up a Facebook post by 95.3 Radio Viva listing it as the station’s WhatsApp call-in number.
So it was indeed a Guatemala station, and it’s a new logging for me.
I still haven’t figured out the Radio El Rosario ID yet. That came later in the recording.

Last night 4/26, 1080-KRLD's IBOC hash was apparently turned off, allowing me to hear 1070 and 1090, for a change. Logged one new station: 1070-WAPI Birmingham, AL carrying Mark Levin with ToH mention of "Alabama's Choice..." at 9:58pm CDT. Normally, KFTI Wichita, KS is the only station I can reliably hear on 1070, but it was absent last night. 1090 was only KAAY.
Past loggings when KRLD IBOC was off during a few days in Jan. 2022:
1070 - KFTI, WDIA, KNTH, KHMO, and KNX.
1090 - KAAY, KEXS, XEAU

93.3 KZOZ and 104.5 KSTT are herd here quite often and yet again the other day. Around 130 miles. Sometimes I'll get 106.1 KWWV as well as well 99.7 KESC despite it being low power.
If it really gets going 103.3 KRUZ will appear with quiet stereo and RDS. Around 200 miles for that.
During the Es season they can actually become pests but sometimes it's strong enough to wipe them out.
With that said tropo here doesn't seem all that great. Probably due to mountainous terrain

That's another one currently MIA, here to your east. KFTI's country music is usually a nightly visitor to Tyler. Even with KRLD next door, if they'd shut the IBOC off, I'd bet you would still hear Wichita quite often in the Metroplex.
I'm guessing KMEL, KRZZ, KNBR-FM & KMVQ are weak were you are in the south bay
Nothing on 530 AM here in Albuquerque, 1080 KRLD from Dallas is coming in. WBAP 820AM from Fort Worth is a no go. KNX 1070 from Los Angeles is a total catch after Sunset.
They are very weak to non existant. When I do happen to have them it's often full of bad multipath. Probably knife edge diffraction.
Also aircraft scatter affects them as well and adds more distortion.
Speaking of aircraft scatter I'll sometimes pickup stuff form Sacramento. If I'm lucky I'll get a RDS decode.
I suppose 96.9 KWAV and 102.5 KDON make it up to the bay area somewhat well.
New catch for me: 1360 KRKK out of Rock Springs, WY. There's some noise and chatter underneath, but it's remarkably clear considering its distance and relatively low power. Maybe they're still on day power? I think I've underestimated this radio! (stock Subaru head unit from 2017). What it lacks in sound quality it makes up for in sensitivity.

From NW San Antonio on my car radio, I logged a new Texas station just prior to sunset on Friday - 890 KTXV in Mabank, which is about 50 miles SE of DFW. I heard a weak "Radio Punjab" ID followed by Punjabi-language talk. The station was taken over by WLS and then came back stronger with prayer chanting for a few minutes before fading completely. Distance was 244 miles.
Previously I've only heard KTXV when I was in the Austin and Wichita Falls areas.

980 KCAB AR Dardanelle 5/5 2258 w/my local KQUE briefly running open carrier, hearing You Make Loving Fun and Stayin' Alive mixing w/KMBZ. Mention of Dardanelle and Russellville between songs gives me confidence that it's KCAB, despite no // or ID. New here
1090 XEAU MX Monterrey NL 5/5 2318 Milenio Radio talk in SS //stream. Relog, thought this was going silent.
1110 WTIS FL Tampa 5/5 2314 fair/good in KFAB null, mixing w/possible KEJL and others w/SS pop //stream. Confirmed to be on late (daytimer) via Miami-area SDR. New here.
1130 WQFX MS Biloxi 5/5 2345 daytimer on late again w/gospel //stream in KWKH null. KWKH much weaker than usual. Relog

I picked them up about a month ago at night too.
This morning, I'm almost certain I was hearing Radio Free Asia on 11760 broadcasting from Kuwait on my C Craine Skywave barefoot with no external antenna.
It was currently broadcasting at the time according to ShortwaveSchedule.com and Radio Habana Cuba was also broadcasting at the time on that frequency but the music I was hearing was definitely Asian and it sounded Chinese.
Then the station completely vanished at 9 am and the frequency was empty.
I went back to ShortwaveScheduele.com and Radio Free Asia on 11760 was no longer shown on the current broadcast list but Radio Habana Cuba was still listed as on the air which I couldn't hear at all.
So it looks like this could be my best radio catch ever at 8,720 miles!

My memory of SW in during the year of high school that I spent in Honolullu was that it was relatively slim pickings. Not a total bust, but I seem to recall that most of what I heard was from Asia/Oceana and fairly weak. Even though I'd lug my Halicrafters S-118 up with me to the rooftop deck of the 14-story apartment building in our complex. A spot where the ambient noise was next to zero.
What I did, however remember, was hearing a number of harmonics from K-POI (5kw ND on 1380), which had its studio and transmitter about two blocks from me, at the corner of Kalakaua and Ala Wai.

It all depends on the time of day.
Early morning, late afternoon, and early evening are the best times.
Radio New Zealand International on 15720 comes booming in early evenings and is the strongest shortwave station I've heard here.
Late this afternoon, I was able to get a station on 11780 from Brasilia.
And this is barefoot reception too.
And, as you say, there are plenty from Japan and China.

I wanted the AM so I could move it to Quito. I already knew I did not want the shortwave as there was really no way to make money with it in a large city.
So when I took over the station, I had the shortwave transmitter taken to a dumpsite. I gave the AM rig to another area small town station for parts. I notified the local equivalent of the FCC that we were returning the shortwave license.
I think that I operated the shortwave station for about an hour while we were signing the final papers.

I recall harmonic hunting to be a sub-hobby in the 70s.
