Unfortunately I missed this opening. I was out doing errands with no radio access. Too bad, because I probably would have had AZ/NM/NV on the backend of the cloud.
The irony that you picked up Kopper 94 in Butte, as that was a semi-local all weekend while staying in Corvallis, Montana (northeast of Hamilton). 92.5 KAAR and 95.5 KMBR probably would have made it if not for your locals.

Maybe.

KOPR was pretty weak and unstable but enough to trigger RDS.
 
Mystery signal. I was up in the California Sierras and just past sunset I heard a weak TIS on 1710 come in on skywave. I did hear the word "installation" which made me think It might be the Travis AFB TIS. The only other idea is Lewis-McChord.

Is 1710 Travis AFB still on? I can't find a KiwiSDR close enough to conirm activity. With a strong Mexican signal on 1700 it is dfficult to DX the much weaker TIS.

I can confirm the Travis AFB TIS is still on air at 1710.

I will sometimes tune in and use it after dark as a check for DX conditions. If it comes in well, odds are conditions favor northerly reception. If it's weak, I look to the south.

So going though I/Q files when I have the time it's up to 108 logs now. Many new. Basically lasted 3 and a half hours.

On the Ocean City, Maryland SDR I can hear both WFIL Philadelphia and WGAI Elizabeth City, North Carolina at the same time around 3:30 pm local time.
 
I got what I consider my best FM translator catch in Clifton, NJ during the overnight hours. It is 90.9 W215BT "Mars Hill Network" Riverhead, NY. The transmitter is about 72 miles (116 km) away from me with a power of 10 watts.

That is impressive! When I lived in Manistee, MI, I would occasionally pick up the 101.3 super translator in Wausau, WI (250W @ 1000'+ HAAT) at around 175 miles with a close local (< 5 miles) on 101.5 and a semi-local on 101.1

my best ever translator catch is 1250 miles from western PA to Rapid City, SD and about 850 miles from SE WY to Stockton, CA

I really ought to get a TEF6686 sometime. It's FM reception seems impressive.

Is it similarly impressive on AM and SW? I'm sure I read a post or ten about it somewhere, but it's late and I'm too tired to look.

Yes, the FM is impressive on the TEF6686. I can't say the same thing about AM & SW, though. The telescopic antenna just doesn't cut it for those bands. Fortunately, you can use an external antenna such as a long wire, a passive loop or active loop antenna to improve reception. I use my Terk Advantage loop antenna with a 3.5mm to SMA male cable to improve AM reception.

press the middle button in and hold it in till the menu shows up, select fm and turn up the .. i forget what they call it.. the level offset? It'll boost the signals a bit, @MichaelD1972
