Radio Nacional da Amazonias, 0015-0200UTC on 11780khz from a 100kw transmitter into a curtain antenna beamed at 312 degrees azimuth from a transmitter site 40km NW of Brasilia. Target region is the northern Amazon forest region.

Im 5000 miles outside of their target zone but only 8 degrees off dead center and the perfect place for a 3rd hop. 11780 here is consistently this good, way better than it was in Alaska

TEF6686 Radio, DXEngineering preamp, EmTech ZM2 antenna tuner, big Wellbrook type magnetic loop antenna along with accessories like a Zoom H1 to record audio and Pyle wireless mic system to feed audio directly into my camera for video.

Nothing major, but tropo was bringing the DelMarVa-area stations into central NJ this morning. I heard "Q105" (104.7 WQHQ Ocean City-Salisbury, MD), classic rock on 106.9 (most likely "The Fox" WAFX Suffolk, VA), and "Big 107.7" (WGBG-FM Fruitland, MD), along with southern NJ stations like "Lite 96.9" (WFPG Atlantic City, NJ), "SoJO 104.9" (WSJO Egg Harbor City, NJ), and "Cat Country 107.3" (WPUR Atlantic City, NJ).

You should have been listening to the FM dial last night. 2-3 hours of non-stop FM Es top-of-band on the East Coast. Some DXers even had multiple local FMs wiped out.

DX Potential off to a strong start already this morning.
High MUFs up to 110+ and climbing !!
Looks likes it's gonna be another good E-Skip day!

I missed much of this opening as I was incredibly (no...beyond) busy with an Amazon delivery route. I'm working Amazon until (hopefully) 7/15-20, and then heading east for Montana. This will keep my finances going as the kids go home for the summer.

Had a few Es signals around 12:55-1:05PM PT today from Yakima.
KEXL 97.5 Norfolk NE, ag report with WJAG reference
KORN 92.1 Parkston SD, Korn Country
KOLB 88.3 Hartington NE with Catholic talk program, Ave Maria in the Afternoon
and finally a NEW log: 93.5 KIPI Eagle Butte, SD with classic hits and a TOH ID. NEW #939, 100KW at 936 miles.

Had an UNID 89.7 NPR, was probably KUSD (a relog). Really no time to DX w/ 150+ packages to drop off. I'm off Thurs/Fri so maybe I'll be around for a giant top-of-band extravaganza with translator logs and more double-hop. Can I...pretty please?

No recordings due to work.

Meanwhile, before work, there was Es on the east coast...and I spent over TWO HOURS on a giant Es opening in Bermuda via the SDR there. Bermuda is a dream spot for FM propagation as everything outside of a handful of locals on the island is DX (long tropo, Ms or Es). It was a frenzy, 3-4 deep at times, wild swapping. Started logging and recording from the SDR at 10:20 AM ET (or 11:20 in Bermuda).

From my house in NEPA, this morning, for the first time ever, I've received a AC station on 103.3 calling themselves "Magic 103.3 & 98.5"?. I googled this station and listened to their stream to see if it matches the actual broadcast, and it turns out that it is based in Newport, NC. This was picked up off of my QODOSEN DX-286 receiver, which has excellent FM reception. Also, it was heard over the IBOC hash from adjacent local WILK-FM 103.1.

Also, I picked up a religious station WYFI 99.7 out of Norfolk. It came in almost clearly on the same radio I use.

This was my first time picking up stations as far south as southern coastal NC via tropo in a valley region in NEPA. It is common for such stations to be picked up during tropo events in places around the Jersey Shore.

Also, some stations from Philly were receivable.

Curtis, you might have Es right now. AR/LA probably from your location.
Edit: On an SDR in Montreal, it is CRAZY...3-4 deep with stations ranging Cleveland OH (500 miles) to Birmingham AL. Highlights: WAKS-96.5 Akron w/ Kia of Cleveland ad...WJQQ and WBVB KY swapping on 97.1, several Charleston WV stations including Electric 102.7, WEZJ-104.3 Williamsburg KY, WNCI 97.9 Columbus w/ a weather report, WIVK 107.7 Knoxville (and others), and WVKM-106.7 Matewan WV w/ WVPB, Classical.

This is where in Pittsburgh from where I got KDWB (~763 miles) and KZ 100 (~941 miles). I wasn’t believing it as I usually get unlucky , missing when there is e skip. KZ 100 was so unpredictable in signal , but at points it was strong enough for RDS! KDWB quickly faded into classic country music as “101.3 WNCL” with a moderate signal. I searched it up l but no station uses the branding and a classic country station in Deleware using WNCL changed the call signs a few years back, so that’s a current mystery.

Some more logs from Montreal...earlier:

WEKU 88.9 Richmond KY
WEKM 88.1 Maysville KY mixed with several others
WKVO 89.9 Georgetown KY, K-LOVE
WXKV 90.5 Selmer TN
WCJK 96.3 Murfreesboro TN (Jack FM)
WKYM 101.7 Monticello KY
WJLE-FM 101.7 Smithville TN
WCMT 101.3 Martin TN
WKDO-FM 101.3 Liberty KY
WZYP 104.3 Huntsville AL
W254DW 98.7 Shelbyville TN (WLIJ-1580, 250 watts!)
WFMH 95.5 Hackleburg AL - pure southern country radio
and the big one...WXLN-LP 93.3 Shelbyville KY, Power 93-3 only 100 watts! mixed w/ WAKW Cincinnati.

Wow Some Decent E-skip today!!

90.3 KMNE from Central Nebraska
heard in Gaffney SC

Also confirmed without RDS, briefly,
99.5 the Twister (matched KDJL).

From Gaffney, SC (Upstate South Carolina)...

Just heard a Bott Radio Network station on 88.5
(Likely KLCV fading in from Lincoln Nebraska)

Also brief discussion of "Fargo" on 91.9
(likely KDSU - in North Dakota).

Today may have been one of the best E-skip openings in decades for the East Coast and Midwest. After I left for Amazon shift, the east coast MUF went up to 2-meters, NOAA, and channel 7, and was probably higher than that...potentially up through DT 9 or 10. Confirmed logging of KMNE-DT 7 Bassett NE in Ontario (NET/PBS). Probably 10 or more NOAA 162mhz loggings from the eastern 2/3rds of the USA...all confirmed. KS to SC, AL to CO, etc. Numerous DXers had their weaker (<5KW) locals, translators, and LPFMs wiped clean to the foundation. A friend of mine in Norton OH had several Cleveland FMs demolished by skip - WNWV gone, replaced by KISX in TX, WGAR-99.5 wiped clean by WQYK in St. Petersburg FL, and KPLX in Fort Worth destroying local WGAR. These full-power FMs are only 24 miles away from his home.

It did come west, but it was just leftovers and mostly stale. *Had I still lived in Cascade, ID...it would be up through mid-band and potentially double hop.* Someone else in Ontario (not the channel 7 reporter) had KLCE-97.3 ID on DOUBLE HOP! From the Yakima Valley...I did get a new log with KWME-92.7 Wellington KS, with a commercial for a Wichita dental clinic around 8:15PM PT tonight. NEW #940, 14KW at 1,344 miles. Had hymns on 88.3 at times (probably KYFW) and may have been the same station with a severe T-storm warning EAS. Also a pop station on 93.1 (KHMY?) and 93.9 SS (KZRD likely)...plus a 97.3 with an estate auction ad, need to confirm and figure out who it was...but it was probably KKJQ Garden City, relogged several times here.

Received some E-skip stations on my car radio in Picayune, Mississippi at 9:30-10 PM:
88.1 KVSC St. Cloud, MN with HD showing as KVSC-HD, but did not lock on to the HD signal
92.5 KJJY West Des Moines, IA
88.1 KMLV Ralston, NE - Omaha's K-Love
89.3 KRSW Worthington, MN - with RDS showing MPR Classical

Very nice to hear something as I didn't get any E-skip at all last year.

Wow, that's a lot of my former semi-locals (the Boise ones). Were you actively monitoring? McCall has some low-power FMs that could have been mixed with Montana stations. KBSK-89.9 (jazz), KBSM-91.7 (BSPR Music, mostly classical with some other specialty shows), KBSQ-90.7 (BSPR News), KAVY-89.1 (Project Nation), and also KUJJ Big Star 95.5, at 2.7KW. I see no logs on 88.3, so I assume it's IBOC or a local there (no KGSY chance).
Like I said, no doubt Cascade would have been in the thick of 2Es to the southeastern US, maybe even Florida, swapping with single-hop to KS/MO/OK/AR.

Just this morning, another Toronto DXer has confirmed (from last night) KBLL-99.5 Helena MT, double-hop, 1600 miles. I was hoping there would be a link-up from here...but I'm just too far west at the moment. In about 6 weeks I move 550 miles E to Red Lodge MT, where the 1000-mi. and higher radius is a whole lot different there. Chicago, Little Rock, Indianapolis, St. Louis, Dallas, even parts of KY/TN all normal single-hop from there, let alone mainland MI.

Already, the 6m map is being refilled with Es on the east coast. Could be another long day of FM DX.
Edit: Already into FM again 9:40AM ET, 93.9 KSOU IA into a Toronto suburb, an autologger in Ottawa got KSJN-99.5 Minneapolis... annnnndddd they're off!

I was using the RabbitEars TEF6686 autologger software.

There is a semi-local FM station on 88.5 FM, KJNW in Kansas City, MO, that has IBOC sidebands.
