And they still broadcasting in New Orleans which I am surprised has been going on for so long, considering COL changed many moons ago and barely a 40 dbu signal in Gonzales if that.
Plan was to have cake and eat it too when they had the 2000 foot stick as the plan was to move COL from Houma to BR, back fill into NOLA, and still build out 103.7 .
104.1 is still too close spaced being in Chalmette to 104.5, hince the move to Baton Rouge instead of rebuilding Vacherie or building something closer as there are no big sticks in River/Bayou Region that don't already have at least a radio station tv station, government owned or too much a headache to get on due to loading.
104.1 is rumored to be jbo FM. I still think jbo will stay on AM , and probably do a WWL style playback. Where you can break coverage for different things, but still have a full power am/fm.
A translator is tied to a am station for only first 5 years. They will probably feed it with WFMF HD2 (Which has been JBO FM as well as 98.7 and beleive 5 years is up). And could be moved to anything, but agree on either throwbacks or a Alt station which I heart does in many cities. As I'm guessing this may be why 98.1 started going heritage and started playing new rock for. Since 92.3 is a rimshot in BR, and fear of I heart stealing listeners with a new Alt station.
