Probable E-skip, up here in Ottawa!

Nice catches, Tincap. Congratulations!

Western Iowa and pretty much all of Nebraska is a DX-er's dream....even without e-skip. On the FM side, there are numerous class Cs broadcasting over a lot of flat and wide open terrain (although parts of western Iowa are hilly).

On the AM side you've got fabulous ground conductivity....although the Sand Hills area of north central Nebraska is pretty lousy.

Well KIWR is licensed to Council Bluffs, IA. I picked it up one time on the former FMDX Montreal Global Tuners node and counted it as Council Bluffs, IA, not Ralston NE.

Thanks for that crianbebo, fmscan.org does list it as Ralston NE, but it would certainly explain the favouring of the Iowa based ads.

Also, when I saw you had posted, I was hoping a bit, that you'd perhaps had bagged one of these Mid-West stations, from your location on the left coast. That would be kinda neat. My furthest FM catch thus far, is that of a Texan, which is a local to one of our members here. :)

Sure did! I logged KHNE 89.1 Hastings, NE on 6/25 this year. Distance is around 1270 miles from my QTH.
