The only other country station other that WXTU that I remember in Philly was US-1. That's where the WUSL call letters came from before it was Power 99.

and sister station WFIL which had a country classics format in the early 80s, plus WCZN with Sal April which played country classics in the 90s had a good Philly signal and of course Real Country Power with Nick Reynolds from the Rittenhouse Ranch...

Iheart and Audacy has been flipping underperforming radio stations as of late. is ALT 104.5 on the chopping block. With it's 1.5 share

Understand the 1.5 represents from 12+. Shows like The Woody Show is strong with males 24+. They also flip the mid-day host with the night host. Sounds like I-Heart hanging on.

They flipped WISX again. WDAS, Q102, ALT 104.5 and Power 99 are all here to stay for the time being

Exactly. iHeart did it back in 2006 with 104.5 and 106.1.

Even more recently, iHeart shuffled formats on FOUR stations in Seattle/Tacoma in 2016

Does that mean another station flip is imminent from iHeart? No. Does it mean it's POSSIBLE? Yes.

Classic Rock, Country and Rock are among the options that ought to be considered for 104.5 if ratings fail to rebound soon. I'm tempted to say Hot AC, too, but if such an effort were to gain any steam, B101 would simply shift hotter or 96.5 TDY would revert to Adult CHR (something, frankly, that station ought to consider doing right now).

David, would a format geared toward some segment of the Latino community be viable? I know that topic has been discussed here before, but I cannot recall your assessment off the top of my head.

I would love to see News/Talk return to a full power FM signal in Philly, but I'm very skeptical that iHM would be willing to commit to such an undertaking.
