Really???

I would love to see another station battle 97.9 maybe 106.9 could be a classic rap hiphop r&b playing stuff from 88 to 02

Any idea when Cox will start the simulcast? Midnight or 6am

I'm figuring either midnight, or 5 am or whenever the morning show is.

Anyone else noticed the signal has been pretty awful all day? Drop outs, 60 hz hum, getting weak then coming back, RDS lost for a long time...

I did notice that but why? The switch will more likely happen from the Booth not the transmitter site. Even if it did it wouldn't affect the signal

Isn't it a pretty old transmitter I think? Maybe it'll rot off the tower tomorrow morning right before the switch...

WTF I just heard a zone ID why still using these IDs if they are flipping in a few hrs

Well, Cox was dumb enough to turn X106.7 in San Antonio into a classic rock station instead of making it alternative to compliment 99.5 KISS. Next thing you know, they'll simulcast 93Q on 97.1. Goes to show from a company ran by monkeys.

We'll see how the new combined station is rebranded, and whether Stairway to Heaven is played in the first 10 songs. If it is, another Cox sucking experience will be in progress.

Bryan, that's not uncommon. It's pretty much standard procedure to continue the present format right up to the time of the flip of the new format. It is not practical to change on air elements before the flip.

Well, I'm guessing we're just 30 minutes away from the switch. The last song on The Zone might be R.E.M.'s "It's the End of the World as We Know It". And we'll all feel fine.

Last song was Jumper by Third Eyed Blind. The cut it off in the middle of the song and began the Dean and Rog show.

Wow I am so glad I can get The Eagle 1069. I sure had a hard time picking up the station on it's weak counter-partner 107.5. Guess I'll just got back to 103.7.

I had The Zone on all night - the switch actually woke me up. Special thanks to Dean & Rog this time for another consecutive 4 hour night. Maybe if I rail some Unisom I can go back to sleep. Excellent job at COX MEDIA for demonstrating why you should stay in school, drink your milk, drugs are bad

Dean & Rog has really sold us out. Cox has sold us out, and the only other alternative we've got in Houston is 103-7, Jack-FM. And I hope Cumulus does not have any plans to flip it-Just yet...
