From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia: KZTS (101.1 FM) is a radio station broadcasting an Urban Contemporary format. Licensed to Cammack Village, Arkansas, USA, it serves the Little Rock area.Beginning in April 2010, the station will be the Little Rock affiliate for The Rickey Smiley Morning Show. No,Broadway will not get canned.Citadel has faith in his 20 plus years of keeping "Power 92" on top,Not to mention ,the last competion hired the wrong PD to help run them into the ground aka Crain media's "Hot96.5'

Instead of Power 104.3, which would match the call letters WWPW, the station chose to go with 104.3 The Beat.

P.S. Does anyone know what day Rickey will be airing on his new affliliates?

I have heard that Ricky Smiley will be on 101.1... In my opinion, he will kill the Broadway Joe Morning show. The BJMS show is the worst morning show I have heard in sometime. He has two females on there that do nothing but male bash and scream about religion. That is a FAIL for urban radio. Broadway Joe is well beyond the demo he broadcast to and he don't give "f" about it. 101.1 point will have a huge morning show following. The show is hip-hop.. They have a live dj mixer during part of the show and variety of topics for everyone. Not that lame power people poll which only shows how ignorant some his listeners are. Broadway Joe is going to have to do more than give away tickets to concerts to keep his head above water on this one. He is more concerned about Blues on the River and other Blues and oldies events than giving the Little Rock area big concerts and shows like other stations do in other cities. There is no more Juneteenth so if 101.1 is smart, they should jump in and pull a huge show together. I believe that 101.1 does have the same PD as the former 96.5 but I don't believe he will have the free reign he had when working for Crain. The owner of this station knows his ish! But anyway, the signal is very weak and I don't believe it reaches Pine Bluff. If not, folks south of LR will need to lean on Power 92 to hear urban radio which is a big hole for 101.1...nothing but brothers and sisters down south, now counting Sheridan of course. LOL

WKXN/WKXK Greenville/Pine Hill/Montgomery has jumped on his bandwagon. They're now broadcasting his program.

What was the Big Station is now being billed as "Power 95.9" Number 1 for Hip-Hop/R&B.

R.D.P. <><

P.S. To learn more about this station, visit www.thebigstation.fm. They're still working on the site though. It's going through a revamp.

Naw, WKXN/WKXK was always an Urban Contemporary that just kept hip-hop spins to a minimum except during the late afternoon and early evening hours. It's owners was always more "old school" about the way the station was programmed hence why you wouldn't hear much hip-hop during other portions of the day.

***UPDATE***After checking the station this morning on the last day of April, the Rickey Smiley Morning Show has not began airing. It's sad that the info from Wiki is not correct as far as the month is concerned for KZTS,only the affiliation has been confirmed by Syndication One.Of course anyone can edit on this site,so we're still waiting.Meanwhile I will continue to listen online to either HOT 107/Atlanta,Where Rickey moved the show(4 hrs) Or 979 The Beat/Dallas (5hrs)where it all origionally started...............

I don't know the situation going on at STREETZ 101.1/KZTS, but I'm sure they wouldn't have Rickey's banner on www.streets1011.com nor would STREETZ be listed as an affiliate on www.rickeysmileymorningshow.com/affiliate.php . Same situation going on in Charleston at 92.5 THE BOX. Rickey was scheduled to go on in April, but now he's going on in early next month.

Maybe its a ratings thing. Maybe they are waitng for a fresh new rating period to start? Just a thought.

Regardless of the current situation,I will continue to listen online where the choices are unlimited, including KOKY & KIPR locally. Also the PD "No Name" aka Joe Ratliff does not have a squeaky clean reputation, look him up........

I agree, I think it would be a big ratings boost for Hot. Big Boys is one of the worst rated in Columbia AMD as of now, I think Rickey could change that. Hot has a 9,200 watt signal vs 100,000 watts for The Beat. The Beat's signal is stronger, but Hot still does a decent job of covering the market, not as bad as you would think. Radio One is dumping Russ for Rickey in alot of their markets, and Rickey does alot better. I would expect the same here. I would expect more money regardless of the ratings, Rickey's name is already a household name, that alone would bring in more revenue. Isn't he one of the kings of comedy? I could be wrong on that.
Just to keep urbanradio704 honest, the Beat 100.1 is a class A station with 6000 watts on a short tower. It has problems covering metro Cola. especially this time of year with e-skip and tropo. Hot has 9,200 watts as urban reported, but from a tower in a swamp 20 miles south of center city and also has trouble covering the metro.

Columbia needs an urban on a full market signal like 106.7 or 104.7.
