I've said this before, I'll say it again. There's a sales person who I now work with who was at KLLI for all this. And he/she/it told me in no uncertain terms that it was the advertisers getting gun shy that drove him out. Combine that nugget of info with BDH's comment about him not doing roadshows, not wanting to do live spots, etc, and you can see where Russ isn't what people call 'sales friendly'.
You can justify a lot when you're #1 in your demo. Drop to 6th, and having half a dozen people on your crew seems excessive. Somebody remind me- Russ, JD, Trey, Dan o Malley, aren'tthere at least another couple of people I'm missing? Somebody doing traffic, again, I have no idea because traffic just isn't that big a deal to me-
Again, with all due respect, i'm not the type to take it as "oh, well, little1 said it, so it must be true." I mean give me hard evidence of the show's breakdown. The 3-7 numbers, the men 25-54 numbers, etc. Regardless, 5th or 6th is still quite an audience considering the number of stations out there. As for the money he was raking in, I heard him and the rest of the show joke about it, but, I don't know anybody outside of him and management knowing how much he made. People have their ideas, but, it's only ideas. And, again, with all due respect to your sales department source little1, I don't just take anonymous peoples word as gospel. I don't know them, or you, so, sorry. As I said, no disrespect intended.
