RM strikes plea deal

Yep, the report before they took him off (so November IIRC) he was down to 6th in M25-54. And while 6th in your key demo isn't just horrible, when you're #1 getting Russ's salary and #2 carrying Russ's staff, and #3 have advertisers getting skittish, it's why they took him off.

I've said this before, I'll say it again. There's a sales person who I now work with who was at KLLI for all this. And he/she/it told me in no uncertain terms that it was the advertisers getting gun shy that drove him out. Combine that nugget of info with BDH's comment about him not doing roadshows, not wanting to do live spots, etc, and you can see where Russ isn't what people call 'sales friendly'.

You can justify a lot when you're #1 in your demo. Drop to 6th, and having half a dozen people on your crew seems excessive. Somebody remind me- Russ, JD, Trey, Dan o Malley, aren'tthere at least another couple of people I'm missing? Somebody doing traffic, again, I have no idea because traffic just isn't that big a deal to me-

Again, with all due respect, i'm not the type to take it as "oh, well, little1 said it, so it must be true." I mean give me hard evidence of the show's breakdown. The 3-7 numbers, the men 25-54 numbers, etc. Regardless, 5th or 6th is still quite an audience considering the number of stations out there. As for the money he was raking in, I heard him and the rest of the show joke about it, but, I don't know anybody outside of him and management knowing how much he made. People have their ideas, but, it's only ideas. And, again, with all due respect to your sales department source little1, I don't just take anonymous peoples word as gospel. I don't know them, or you, so, sorry. As I said, no disrespect intended.

Little1 has the Arbitron data, and yet you ignore it? Wow... There isn't any "harder" evidence than Arbitron.

CDL 33: Little1 gave you the numbers and he does have access to them. Though I disagree with him on other sibjects, he is an account exec's guide to demos. He knows sales and if he says sales people shied away from RM and his closely watch targeted demo was sinking faster than liquid plummer, that is hard core evidence. You can squawk all you want, but the facts were presented and you can argue with them all you would like ,but that won't change the reason. RM has an image of anti-social crud, now a woman beater, advertisers do not like that. No advertisers no show, no listeners in your demo, no show. Thats the basics.

I hate looking up numbers.

Okay December release (which would be the Novembers numbers) , M 25-54, M-F 3-7p, Russ was actually at #4 with a 4.5. So it's probably The November book (Oct) was where he was 6th.

But while I'm there- look at the over all December numbers.
M25-54 M-Sun 6a-Mid 9th with a 3.1
M25-54 M-Fri 6a-Mid, 7th with a 3.4
