Robotic newscasts on WIBC

"WXNT and WFT will, 5 or 6 years down the road, take WIBC's audience"

WFT first needs to break into the Top 20. ;D

Again, you're blowing ALL points above out of proportion.

If traffic is STOPPED on an interstate during the RUSH LIMBAUGH show, then when coming back from a scheduled break, make a quick 5-second report - simple as that. Sure 30-seconds for routine traffic is not an option, 5-seconds for a backup inside 465 is not too much to ask for the NEWS and INFORMATION station to provide.

So, you are finally willing to concede that your original idea was unworkable. Good. Now pay attention to the "windows of opportunity" WIBC is granted during Rush - not that many and not on a schedule where WIBC or it's listeners can predict when they will have traffic on the air.

Seems like you have a grudge against this station. Find another one.

There is at least one per week between I-69 on the north side, 74 heading west out of town, 65 in Lebanon area, or I-70 in Mount Comfort area - ALL with people trying to get home -- these DO have backups regularly many times per month - especially in the winter.

So make up your mind ... is this an occasional problem or a regular occurrence? Pick a story and stick to it.

Next time you hear one of those "informative traffic reports" after 4pm put a stopwatch on it and HONESTLY report how much time was consumed transferring the information to you. More that five seconds? More than ten? Put a watch to it and learn something about the station you so easily bash.

You keep repeating yourself. I will say one more time, when there is stopped traffic on interstates, it would be nice if the NEWS and INFORMATION station would throw that info out there in a 5-second blurb. NOT an entire traffic report every 10 minutes during Rush.

Sorry if I offended your employer. And please, as a station, don't try to improve, you are perfect as you are.

If Cumulus wants WFT to break back into the Top 20 then they need to switch the format back to contemporary Christian music and hire me.

With the deal they have with Hannity im sure Cumulus wont be changing WFT anytime soon. probly cost them a pretty penny to steal Hannity from WXNT for WFT. It Probly cost them even more to break the contract to change the format this soon

They are not my employer. We've covered all the ways that WIBC could do it ... perhaps you lack the understanding to read a clock and follow a format. It would explain any problems you had as a PD (assuming that you were one and no just blowing smoke).

Traffic stopped on the interstates in a major metro ... big deal. Call me if it involves Hazmat. :)
(Oh, I forgot, it affects you ... probably should pull a national EAN since it is something important to you. ::) )

It feels like Hannity was stongest a year or two ago. WXNT had him at his peak. Savage seems like the only strong show 93.9 has.

Hannity may have had his peak a while back but I'm sure Cumulus threw a wad of money to get him from WXNT and Entercom over to FM. It be at least a year or 2 before we see Cumulus throw in the towel on WFT. with them taking WFTK in Cincy on a more local basis. it wouldnt shock me to see some sort of down the road of either simulcasting some of the WFTK shows on WFT either live or delayed. or try to find some local talent. unfortunately for Frenchman the song will be stuck on HD-2 till Cumulus finds something else to air on HD-2

Getting back to WIBC...this morning at 8AM, they managed to start a newscast WITHOUT the RADIO INDIANA WIBC Cuck Riley ID. The ID was built into the news intro. That's monumental in it's own right.

Or it could have been an automation error that caused a live read of the TOH ID.

Assuming that WIBC's newscasts are actually "live". Heh.

Maybe it's me, but every time Amber Stearns is doing Indy Today live at Noon I have to switch the station. Her robotic-like delivery just irks me and when she tries to show some personality, I just cringe. Times like this where I miss Leigh Denoon (and I hate being those folks that hang on to the past).

Annnnnnd, that's all I got.
This has been haunting me for quite a while...had to resurrect this one. There were a number of comments made about Amber when she started at WIBC. Since then, she's been leaned on to host several talks shows when the regular hosts were unavailable and I for one want to agree with the listeners who think she's one of the best. If there ever was a robotic, lack of personality in her delivery, it's long gone.

It took WXIR some 20 years to break the Top 20 because thye were the only game in town.

The Song had billboards unlimited. Like the WNAP of old people don't like to get dumped on and they have a track record of a new format every few years. The listeners have moved on. Many new signals with the same or better variety. If they weren't happy with the billing from Christian enough to flip it they won't be back.

You have to apply at a station to work there, not just relentlessly trash them on the board. Cleanup at the buffet.

He's tried... about a thousand times.

He got so annoying that no one on North Shadeland will even take his calls or e-mails anymore.

Of course, neither will anyone else in the biz either.
