Clear Channel, in its press release, is calling the format Adult Alternative.
So, it won't be like Y-100 was or even like Y-Rock on WXPN. It'll be a more commercial version of WXPN's main hours.
Check out these stations in other markets - it'll probably be similar to them: WBOS, Boston; WXRT, Chicago; KFOG, San Francisco. They all do the AA format, but aren't non-commercial. BOS is owned by Greater Media, XRT and FOG are owned by CBS.
And as for male-female: most AA stations have the best "balance" of the sexes, coming close to 50-50 listenership. I think CC is aiming 25-44 as far as age goes. This isn't for the college-age crowd, either.
Don't look for in-your-face imaging. Many of these stations go "anti-radio": no hype, no loud DJs, no contests, etc.
Those of you looking for your Active/Alternative might like 1/3 of the music, but this won't be entirely what you're looking for.
