Russ Martin Show

The few times I heard Russ Martin, it sounded like a bunch of teenagers laughin at silly crap, too bad I never got it, or was there a point to his rambling?

I am not in radio as most of the people who post here are. I am just a listener.

I like listening to The Russ Martin Show. It is funny. Not all the time, but more often than not.

What else is there to listen to from 3-7?

Sports? Don't care.
Music? I have CDs.
Political talk? Again, don't care.

When I get off work at 3:00, I want to unwind, relax and have a laugh.

Russ provides that to me.

If you don't listen, how is it you know so much about the program? ???

As a long time "reader" here and seldom poster, some of you make me laugh.....almost as much as Russ.

Can anyone in the "biz" provide ratings and comparisons to what he competes with? Who's actually #1 and in what catagories?

Depends what subcategories you're looking at.
For example,for just 3-7p, in the last couple books, KTCK has been #1 Persons 25-54 and Men 18+. But Russ has been #1 with Men 18-34. (IIRC)

It all depends on what core demo you're looking at, and how important it is to you as either a station or an advertiser. P25-54 is the 'money' demo, so I'd rather have that in my win column, but if you're #1 M18-34 you can probably make a pretty good living sell ads to beer companies, strip clubs, DUI attorneys and the like...

Actually this thread starting because someone noticed no one on the board had mentioned RMS, even though the show had been playing "Best of" rebroadcasts for two weeks. That sounds to me that most people are not listening, and notice most of the posts are referring to the last time a poster listened or when they used to listen. If the last time you listened to Russ Martin was five years ago, it's easy to know what's going on with the show....the exact same thing that was going on five years ago. You can practically pick up where you left off..the show is just that boring and redundant.

WHAT!! that show is live, i thought this whole time they were playing re-runs from 5 yrs ago.Just for kicks i listened today and they were replaying an audio clip that russ made of a fake 911 call regarding the wellsfargo in frisco fiasco. That is the same thing he played over and over nearly two months ago. same old sh*t. and then whenever a frequent guest comes on the show. i.e the doctor or that traffic lawyer, he asks them if they've heard something he played.. of course they dont listen. the he replays the same bit with that idiot laughing in the background.
