Russ Martin's Return

Re: The Return of Russ Martin

My understanding is that it was a corporate decision to keep Russ off the air last week. I believe all the lawyers involved felt it was the best thing for everyone.

I am just going by the numerous news stories that quote David Henry as saying they are keeping him off the air for now.

WHOA! WHOA! WHOA!

You aren't citing NEWS STORIES are you? Those are so unfair to Russ and really aren't factual vis a vis a court of law.

(you see, you just grasp at the stuff that helps you out as you advocate for Russ even as you hold us to higher standards; that's hypocritical; that's Russ Martin)

WHOA WHOA WHOA! - haha - get awesome...

There is a difference between a QUOTE from the Station Manager stating they are keeping him off the air vs. rumors on the internet.

Besides the quote had nothing to do with his guilt or innocence - just that he is off the air at the time. Seems to me you are the one "grasping"

PS Sunshine - I don't need anything to "help me advocate for Russ". I'm not advocating him as have said multiple times - the only difference between you and me here is you are already convinced of his guilt and I am just waiting for all the details to come out.

Lighten up Francis...

Re: Well its Monday. Is Live 105.3 still around??

//insert sarcasm

Didn't you know? Russ will be on all day from 6am -6-pm on Monday, 7/28......he'll explain everything....answer all calls.......the judge and arresting officer will be on to explain how the bit unfolded....all the media outlets will be laughing their "bleeps" off.....It'll be a great day on KLLI...

end of sarcasm\\

Re: Well its Monday. Is Live 105.3 still around??

I was commenting on the earlier post that suggested the station itself would be gone by Monday. I don't remember mentioning Russ at all in this post. This wasn't about him.

First post from the thread you mention -

I am sure they will be around for the Harley give away at Sundance Square Saturday... but - will they be around for LIVE 8 on August 18th? They are still promoting the Russ Martin Show Band... who the hell wants to see that mess?

Could you explain to me why the Russ Martin situation would not be the premise for any type of format change at Live 105.3? ??? They seem to have moved on past Pugs & Kelly's issue. I can clearly see the elephant in the room with RMS stamped on his butt. ;D

I have no doubts a format change is in the works for KLLI. But it's probably going to be a month or so before it actually happens.

Re: Well its Monday. Is Live 105.3 still around??

Speaking of format changes, do you think indie 105.3 will move from HD to the main channel? Reason I bring this up is they have a ready-made replacement format and on-air personalities (Jagger/BDH) to fill airslots, not to mention late night programming (LoveLines) tailor-made for that format.

some of these people remind me of the morons that cheered OJ as he fled in the white bronco

He was found not guilty in a court of law, no? Oh, I forgot people are all judged in the court of public opinion nowadays....

You can thank the LAPD for that. They screwed up with the evidence. That's what bothers me so much about folks comparing Russ and OJ's situations.

I am not sure why people keep citing a court of law. We are not 12 years old. We are not held to the standard of a court of law. We are entitled to our opinions, and are entiteld to view and treat people the way we warrant based on the information and evidence we have.

A court of law does not determine INNONCENCE, which is something people seemingly mis-understand. They determine if someone is Guilty, or Not Guilty. Not Guilty simply meaning that enough proof is not avalable to find them guilty. It is not a resolution of innoncence. Obviously it gets treated as such because of our double jeopardy protection. But people who think just because someone is not found guilty is somehow owed a public apology is simply wrong. See OJ.

It is obvious that Russ is guilty. How much money would you bet otherwise?

Actually the blame for the OJ fiasco rests squarely on the DA's office. Marcia Clark and Chris Darden had a conviction all but gift-wrapped and placed in their laps, yet they completely f'd up by failing to vet Mark Fuhrman's past and allowing OJ to try on the glove.

Not to mention sin #1 (according to the great Vincent Bugliosi): Filing the case downtown where the jury pool would contain more African-Americans who would (tend to) be sympathetic to the Juice.

Re: The Return of Russ Martin

OJ was found liable in for their deaths in the civil trial. More evidence was brought out that wasn't in the criminal trial. Not to mention..the criminal jurors were a bunch of moon rocks.

The burden of proof is MUCH greater in criminal court than civil court.
