I remember Z93 as a hard-rocker back in '90 & before. Don't remember X103 (due to my age)...but do remember KDMG (classic gold) and KFMG. I also remember 107KCCQ "Ames Hot FM" but 106.9 KJJC out of Osceola at the time would bleed on to it making it fairly unlistenable for me where I was at during that time.
Back to 102.5...it seems to me if they are going to do this they can't just add some urban tracks only and leave it as "Star"...they have for years played a cut of some hip-hop song and said "You don't have to sit through this to get to this..." then play Three Doors Down or something. That would make them seem hypocritical. As far as the timing, they have a huge contest involving bumper stickers "Put Star on Your Car" and a giveaway. This ends September 11. It seems to me they will wait on any changes at least until after this contest is over.
