Schnitt Checking Out Of Tampa Completely

CC seems to not quite want to give up on AM just yet. They seem as though they are pulled dragging and screaming to FM. They test several markets, here and there, but seem to be unwilling to pull the trigger away from AM.

The tide may be changing, Jeff. Just yesterday, Clear Channel agreed to donate Liberal Talk “AM 1310” WDTW Detroit to the Minority Media & Telecom Council.

The MMTC, which acts as a non-profit broker to secure training and ownership for female and minority owners, will turn around and sell or lease the station to such a buyer. Clear Channel previously donated a few other stations to MMTC including 690 KFXN Minneapolis.
I read that, also. It smells of write-off.

Agreed. And I suspect that will happen to a lot of AMs in the coming years.

That 1310 they're giving away was, at one time, WKNR "Keener 13" and absolutely owned the Detroit market in the pre-Drake days. How the mighty have fallen!

I only see the 12+ PPM's, but it sure looks like CC is getting its a*s handed to it by Cox in this market. I expect big changes soon. I think flipping Mix to a HOT101.5 clone from AC is just the beginning.

Sounds as though it is a change of direction, again.

I do NOT think this was a stunt!

This is a surprise. Schnitt and Bubba Clem are about to engage in a law suit, and I thought CC would distance themselves from Schnitt because of this. Is the law suit a work? In Bubba's world it's hard to distinguish fantasy from reality these days.

Then Bubba has succeeded.

So after Versnick announces a "nationwide search" for Schnitt's replacement, only to be fired himself, Schnitt returns to WFLA. Hmmm...

And I was so hoping the little schnitt would be gone... None of us will be schnittless now...

Wouldn't it be funny if we find out the" iwanna" guy was Versnick?

Unlike the media confidential guy, I do NOT think this "here now, gone tomorrow, back again", was a "ruse". That makes me seriously question another story I read from them.

"Biggy" may have been right about the "blind box"

You know that's just too funny... :D
