The only one I can think of that fits that description is "I Know I'm Losing You" by Uptown, recorded in Dallas and on the "Oak Lawn" label. Late 1986, I believe.

Each cart is labelled so pristine it's unbelievable. (And he really has the pig to boot)
AND the lights work. I can't believe it, the lights work. I haven't seen an ITC RP cart machine with working start / stop lights since Norm Phillips ran Susquehanna technical operations, circa late 1990's.
All of the 570 KLIF RP machines had working lights on the "Worlds First Trimulcast, AM-Internet-TV" Sunday nite computer show originating from the 570 studios in Reverschon Plaza.

Yup, RP model. I boughtit used on E-bay several years ago. A previous owner removed the little "power" light that's located between the STOP and START buttons. The recording amp is bad in one channel. I'm having to use a Broadcast Electronics machine to make recordings.

Robert: Congrats on the success of Legendary 80's! I continue to be more impressed every time I tune in. The music is just GREAT; last time I had it on, Dennis DeYoung's Desert Moon was on. A fantastic lost song from the Fall of 1984 and giant hit on NY radio. Beyond the music programming, the technical set up of the automation system is unbelievable... that thing call pull off segs beyond belief, regardless of how the songs ends. Cold endings are tight, cold-fades are tighter. I've never heard a blown transition, ever on L-80's! And the addition of the sweepers is much enjoyed.

RE: Chicago and Larson - from TM GoldDisc #214 and #216 respectivly. I understand KLUV uses TM's library as well, but I've never made it a point to compare the versions they use.
I use TM's library as much as possible. Some exceptions apply... (i.e. both NKOTB songs were sourced from cassette singles and the Uptown song was from a 45 RPM. Jade and Cathy Dennis were both from the same 90210 CD!)
I wasn't aware Joel's song was rebranded!
P.M. Dawn's song was from the motion picture "Boomerang" (starring Eddie Murphey & Robin Givens)
Rules??? We don't need no stinkin' rules! If I wanna play a 6:00+ minute song, then by golly I'm gonna play it! That reminds me, I need to order the 8 1/2 minute version of McLean's American Pie from TM.

Saturday in the Park sounded quite differently arranged, with an added emphasis, instruments very prominent and very much stand out-ish during non-vocal periods in a way that I'm not familiar with from FM or anywhere else.
Also, the background vocals on Outfield's "All The Love In The World" seemed much more prominent and emphasized as compared to lead vocals at many different points.
My first thought is there is a problem with the 'difference information'; since this is not MPX encoded stereo, that can't be the right answer.
It could be the way that TMCI Golddisc(s) were mastered. Perhaps they are not perfectly in phase. I don't believe that TMCI provided phase correction/compensation, only Sonic Solutions or other single ended noise reduction.
Finally, there is the fact of LG-73's "OPTIMA Gerd-O-Phonic Stereo" (sp?), the stations proprietary audio processing, combined with the Mesquite, Texas based Breakaway AGC pre-processing.
Then there's all the DSP efx resident in the my computer... but today, without a reboot, my gold old standard Rhapsody still sounds normal on even the most complex of program material.

The private source feed that I send to LG's HQ is NOT run through Breakaway before it is sent. Phil requires unprocessed audio from all show hosts, so that's exactly what I send him. Having said that, I am thinking of doing an encore presentation of my shows on my Legendary80s station. If this becomes a reality, it will go through Breakaway.
