News Director is Sean Patrick, a local who's done a lot of sports play-by-play in Reno. I heard overnight newsbreaks done by Veronica Carter this morning. Very trong signal in Reno. This station may give the other news-talkers in the market a run for their money, including KFFT-FM 99.1..along with AM's KKOH, KJFK and KBZZ. What does this say about the Reno audience's perceived intelligence or literary level? What does it say about the programming "genius" of these station's owners? The "Biggest Little City" is still a small city. Oh, yes; and then there's also the local university-run NPR station which also sports a news department. Still, the new K-News may turn some heads..and radio dials in Reno. We'll see how much local radio news improves with the new competition.
