So Did anybody give Danny Bonaduce a listen?

I listened today and plan on being a regular listener when I have the oppurtunity.Entertainingly refreshing. Bonnaduce told a couple interesting personal stories about being back in Philly, they interviewed Van Dam who was such a painfully bad interviewee that the segment was hilarious. Interviewed one of the band members from guns&roses which was very good. My only complaint is to expand the playlist. How many times can you herethe monotonous "JUMP" from Van halen or Back in Black. Play some B sides occassionally.

Preston and Steve are a little over-hyped,nice guys but I never got the popularity of those dudes. I havent listened to them sinces their days at y100. If WIP had somethng worth listening to thats where my dial would be , but that station is horrendously bad especially the mornings.

I'm going to hang with Bonaduce for awhile. His co-host is pretty hot, not sure what her status is but I hope I see her around town

I Love It! But the other a-holes are also the one's who hires these washed up talentless former "Stars". What's next ? The Jeff Conoway Radio Show? This a f-cked up business.

Conoway + Busey = Radio Gold!

Jean Claude Van Damme? Funny, sister station WIP also interviewed him in the 9 am hour yesterday and experience similar phone problems. Has radio gotten that watered-down?

Between Chicago, L.A. and now Philly, when do you think his show will stick? He keeps getting recycled and I can't figure out why. If the show in Chicago was so great, what happened? Did Mancow run him out of town?

Don't forget, he was also in New York for a few years as the morning host on the now-defunct Big 105.

With experience in the top 3 radio markets in scattered fashion, she's like the male Stephanie Miller of radio!

(Incidentally, it was none other than Bonaduce himself that ended up hosting the last week of Stephanie's ill-fated late-night TV show in 1995!)

I notice than no one is saying that he is going to "destroy" Preston and Steve like David Lee Roth, the 2nd coming of O & A, and Kidd Chris were supposed to do. That is good, maybe the CBS higher ups will actually give Bonaduce a chance to find an audience. Kidd Chris's show spent almost as much time discussing P & S as the actual P & S show did, and it failed miserably. Bonaduce has local ties, he can be very unpredictable at times, and he has a wealth of interesting stories from his life that an audience could like, but it is up to him to convert these things into a show that a large number of people enjoy.

Between Kidd Chris and now WYSP changed formats. It now no longer targets WMMR. It targets WMGK. I suppose their plan to beat John DeBella is to put someone on the air that sounds just like him.

Bonaduce wasn't run out of Chicago, he got an offer to do a show on a Detroit station in the mid to late 90's, he did both stations for a while and then the Detroit station offered him more money to be on that station alone. I can't remember the calls of the station.

So, I guess the next question should be... If Detroit was so hot for Danny Bonaduce, what happened to that show? I get you guys are fans, and that's cool. But I just don't get it. And this is really news to me, I never heard about him being in Chicago or Detroit. I thought he'd just been getting show after show in L.A.

And I was kidding about being run out of Chicago, that was more of a dig at Mancow.

You have raised some go0d questions. Not everyone is aware of Bonaduce's radio past, so I've tried to answer with what I know. I have no idea what happened in Detroit. At the time this happened, I lived in south east Iowa, where I could hear his show on WLUP AM (pre WMVP days) if I wanted to. I'm neither a fan nor a detractor myself. In regards to mancow, he's back on air at WLS in mid mornings.

As someone who has been on 15+ radio stations on all corners of America over the years (like my WOGL predecessor Big Ron O'Brien)...I just want to add that it is not unusual for an air talent to 'fail' in several markets along their way to supreme success. And when I say 'fail' I mean the certain standards that radio society levels upon us in the ratings wars, and nothing more. Most of us radio talents have been on many, many stations before settling in to the right place, IF..THAT ever really happens.

Danny is a fantastic individual, with dynamic life experience...and rock & roll hits. He'll be GREAT, and his ratings will be excellent here. Until they're not. Know what I mean, man?

Danny Bonny-******-Bag: Are you kidding? He is so non-hip....so yesterday! Maybe he oughta shave that horrible facial hair and resume his "Partridge" persona. He's a has-been and is totally non-interesting. But then, that's just my opionion....and whothehellamI?

That's really mature. Hope I'm never in a fender bender with you.

Maybe someone should communicate to this A-Hole...(washed up child idiot) that his voice is totally annoying. His delivery is a total turn-off...and THAT will be proved in forthcoming ratings. Maybe he should find his cross-over LOVER and move away far away from anything broadcasting. Maybe.....a Transvestite Bar in Philly. Good luck Danny Boy! YOU SUCK!

Yeah, speaking of posting real names of former WYSP air personalities, I miss Michael Sorce, Michael Elston, and Gregg Hughes. Though, the latter two can still be heard on the internet.

Philadelphia's morning shows are terrible...period.WIP..so tired, elvis duran..ok doesn't quite fit, Preston and Steve.....I just Don't get it and never will,..Debella...are you serious?, PST...WSTW..ARGGGHHHH, Chio is ok but kinda played out,not him but the show. Look I'm no expert but Philly deserves better. We are a top market...right?

The funny thing is, Danny has made more money and done more radio then he did TV...Word is he was making in the $1 million neighborhood when he was hired to co-host with Carolla in LA. I am in LA...when Danny was on Star 98.7, he had pretty good ratings, but his crazy co-host couldn't handle his drug issues....once he was shown the door, the show crashed and burned. He has been in radio for 20 years and if you can get past his voice, and really listen to the show, it's pretty good. I won't be surprised if they syndicate him eventually. The next Stern...NO, but maybe the next big AM show. It's not like they hired Dustin Diamond! If you hire someone for shock value, that person can't stay in the biz too long without having some ability. And to the peeps that keep asking what happened in this city, or that city....it's radio...town to town, up and down the dial!!!

Syndicating the current Bonaduce show (with the exception of L.A., maybe) would negate any positives for it in the first place. If he's focused on talking Philly, and he suddenly morphs into a generic talker like Sliwa, he will crash and burn.
