So What's going on at 98.1

Okay ~ couple of serious questions ~

1.) O Hale owns 100.3 this week, right? So who is the legal and real owner of 98.1? Crapulas or Quntum?

2.) Why does anyone think that any of the parties mentioned above can really run another station? How much did they "pay" swap, trade out, to get 98.1? Then add in legal fees and then add in all the nightmare to
upgrade the signal/transmitter equipment that I am sure was trashed since it was on life support forever?

3.) Can these companies expect to see a return on their "investment" anytime soon?
Never mind. I know that answer REALLY REALLY well.

I will write a check for $500,000 thru 12/31 for that tin can. After that my offer goes down $10,000 a day.
My bank officer is Hendricks Redman. I might be willing to pay $100 extra per strobey.

Gulf Coast Broadcasting? Did they buy WCSN and change their name from Star Broadcasting? There's no chance that Ron Hale sold out. Please don't tell me he's bought another station.

Gulf Coast Broadcasting has owned WCSN since it signed on the air in the early 90's. It also owns 100.3. Ron didn't sell it. If you don't believe me, look it up on Radio-Locator.com

I'm not seeing GC Broadcasting associated with WTKE. The license was held by Star Broadcasting, then it went into receivership, now it appears to be held by "Ft. Walton Beach License" according to radio-locator and fcc.gov. I can't find any documents online about this, so I assume it just happened.

Didn't Gulf Coast Broadcasting buy 93.3 before it was sold to Hale and moved to FWB?

Are you suggesting that WCSN has been linked to "the Ticket" all along or has something changed in the ownership of WTKE or WCSN recently?

I called a guy I know on 100.3 last week about some other things and he said the owner is still Ron Hale

Gulf Coast Broadcasting isn't linked to WTKE, never was. Ron Hale doesn't own 100.3. He used to. He runs it under an LMA. However he doesn't hold the license, Gulf Coast Broadcasting does. Trust me, I would know.

Ok, I know various things have happened with ownership issues with good ole RH. He started with 92.1, then
didn't he grab 98.1 and 93.3 (?) the Evergreen project and then 100.3 etc., and basically sold off these things in various stages or downgraded signals to keep cash available.

Radiopro - my info is pretty limited, but at one time didn't Jennifer Hale (his wife) actually own Gulf Coast Bdcstg after various issues.

I never had any issues with Ron Hale, but know there's been a fair amount of comments made on here that
have certainly been interesting reads.

So, who really does own Gulf Coast now? And the fact that Ron Hale is now reduced to LMA-ing 100.3 is an interesting development. Is it because Crumy has to many signals or some other "reason" or agreement. Have an idea of what 98.1 actually was valued at/sale price?

Tibbs2; having never worked for ron hale I can only offer heresay about the situation. however, having been friends with a number of his previous employees, I've been told that one of the reasons he'd put ownership under his wife's name was to protect it from his creditors. I'd also heard stories about payroll checks bouncing and vendors insisting on cash in advance rather than extending credit. if nothing else, mr. hale is tenacious; he's had more lives in the fwb radio world than a bagful of cats.

Gulf Coast is solely owned by one person, always has been. The Hale's have nevered owned any part of it. Gulf Coast did own Evergreen at one time.......hence ownership of 100.3......read between the lines. Gulf Coast does own 1 other station and will soon own 2 more.

The radio pro ~ was Jennifer's company called something like Gulf Breeze Media/Bdcstg? I seem to remember something like that ~ so yeah, maybe those of us gladly removed from the situation are making the wrong association. Care to share who actually does own Gulf Coast? I guess it's certainly public knowledge. I was
sort of scratching my head wondering how no one had ever mentioned the Hales owning that. Oh, Hell. I am
so confused. That, when considering the subject, is a positive, good thing.

What are they stunting with?

A whole lot of nothing really. Right now their looping Dan Fogelberg for some reason. Before midnight it was a loop of some song that belongs on a standards station...

In other words they are AOR (Any Old Record).

Before midnight they were looping "To know him is to love him" by the Teddy Bears.
After midnight they were looping "Same Old Lang Syne" by Dan Fogelberg and they're still looping it at 7:30 AM.

I haven't heard an ID... it's just to hard to listen to that song looping.
