Negative - at least in the 12+ world. They're 4th and fell off by almost a full point.

Wolf did indeed trend down, albeit slightly, (12+) as I had predicted, but that doesn't mean jack squat about the 25-54 demo.

I don't have access to the trends, and I would be curious to know how they're doing in the breakouts.

Where are ALL the haters who have been predicting the end of WBAP for months now??? (you know who you are) After the early in the year hit....and the early rumors of their death.....they just keep chugging along. C'mon guys....spin the positive into a negative for me!!! You have let me down!!!! (sarcasm meant) ;D

As long as K104 is as lazy as they are, they will not re-claim the number one spot. They are a hip hop station with no mixshows, and nothing out of the ordinary to listen to. Their morning show is dull now since they got rid of everyone that made the show funny and interesting. They need to make some serious changes. Sounds like the Mavericks huh?..... ;D

Looks like all that booty shakin' paid off for KMVK, Movin' from tied for 24th to 20th place! No stoppin' them now, huh? Movin' L.A., take notes!

Omega beat me to the punch. KEGL must of had an awesome month.....Univision took it in the shorts.....regardless how lame Omar is the rest of the station blasted right through KESS and KLNO....very interesting. I wonder how Alex Lucas did against Piolin.....

Correct me if I am wrong but do I sense a hint of sarcasm? :D

More like a liberal dose. But seriously, if want a good laugh check out the Los Angeles board under the heading "...Movin'...no ratings?" www.radio-info.com/smf/index.php/topic,73114.0.html

Remember the 12+ numbers aren't always the full picture...I thought with the most recent book KMVK, despite the lower 12+ numbers, was doing better than KOAI was with respect to its younger female target. The reason for the flip was that KOAI's 25-54 numbers were pretty low since a large part of the audience had aged out of that demo...they didn't flip because of the 12+ rating.

I would think KEGL is impacting KLNO. KESS looks to be losing audience to Liberman's KNOR 93.7 and KBOC 98.3.

Also, Univision's KFZO 99.1 and Liberman's KZZA 106.7 have moved apart with KZZA almost doubling KFZO now.

While in the Spanish-language world...why does Spanish news/talk not generate an audience here? With all the immigration battles in the news (Farmers Branch, immigration bill, etc.) one would think that would be a hot-button issue that would fuel a station like KFLC.

Perhaps little davey eduardo should spend more time programming his stations than posting on radio-info :D

Or both... Get out of programming AND cut back on RI posting. Well hey, we can dream, right? ;)

WHAT??? Liberman actually pulling numbers??? Hell 98.5 before LBI took over pulled 3+ with the jammin hits under the Trust it was operating under...and it hasnt seen numbers that good since (well maybe once!)....but the jammin hits format (as Kiss and pre JACK, etc) was great.......and most of the listeners in its coverage could actually understand it..now, it caters to a smaller audience in its coverage, it doesnt program for its COL (which is STILL Port Arthur) and no 800 # or PA local # as required by FCC rules...I am waiting for Liberman to get bit by the FCC on that one...

I know Chip, 12+ means precious little in the overall picture. It's all about the target demo. But CBS and Movin' (cough, cough) are such easy targets!

That's really a good question. We've always been told that the communal/community/"LOCAL" aspect is VERY important to the success of Spanish language stations, but it appears that the Hispanics generally don't want to deal with issues in a forum like that (talk radio, that is.) Do they simply want to be told what to do and how to think, or do they not care enough to participate in a public forum, or what?

Something that was mentioned on the board long ago is that a lot of Hispanics purposely distance themselves from the "peasants" of their race...hence the downfall of Tejano music, which was apparently a staple of the laborers and such. Perhaps they don't identify with the illegals, or choose to ignore them and their issues. You know how white folks are quick to identify someone else as "white trash;" perhaps this is the same kind of thing on a Hispanic level. You also know how most people, regardless of race, don't respond to issues unless they directly impact their little bubble. Most talk shows I hear are filled with uninformed callers who just want to vent over a specific issue, and there's no fair exchange of ideas or opening of minds involved.

Also, the broadcasting of Hispanic talk shows that are done in Spanish could be a turnoff as well, as I would assume (just from general observation, and especially looking at the segment that is educated, tax-paying, and has upward mobility in their lives) that most Hispanics in the US are wanting to integrate and mingle with the rest of the population, and to get their slice of the American Dream. Speaking to them in their native language and talking only about issues that affect illegals...sure, that's likely a turnoff. There are plenty of issues that affect more of the Hispanic population as a whole, and I doubt Spanish talk radio is giving much time or credence to those. Of course, as Chip said, the illegal immigrant debate is a hot button subject now, and your average talk show host is going to hone in on issues like that to get attention and, hopefully, to strike up some lively conversation. But honestly, I think that's short-selling 90% of a race who probably would like to be better informed.

Is this the first time KBFB ever beat KKDA?

The music on KBFB is far more crunk than the mainstream urban on KKDA. Although recently KKDA started shifting their music towards KBFB, for example, they play "Hood Figga" by Gorilla Zoe, a song they would have once passed on.

KBFB is my favorite Urban station in the U.S because they don't have the herd mentality when it comes to music. They were one of the only Urbans not to play Justin Timberlake. KKDA was playing every Timberlake song serviced to them, (although they are skipping out on the current single). Urbans don't earn street cred by selling out and playing JT.

What's wrong with Justin Timberlake? Per the KISS-FM billboard, he has a tattoo, so that MUST make him cool (a mere $75 investment to reinvent your career...sure, why not?) Maybe it's time for all the white rappers to team up for a "We are the World" kind of single. Ya know, Eminem, Snow, um, um, hmmm, well, trying to think of another, uh, uh, ok--the Beastie Boys? (Are they still alive after 20 years?) Can we call it the "Crunk Junk Tour"?
