Spring - Phase 1 out today

Um...no one has discussed this but KLLI's trend, especially in afternoons...wow. They must be doing back flips at the ticket.

:D ;D :D ;D WOW!!! Not only did the KILL Recurdo but KICKED the BIG DAWG out the yard as well...(KESS) There is NO DOUBT that Dallas has ONLY BUT 1 choice for SPANISH Radio. KEGL La Preciosa 97.1! Yes I know it is only but a trend but hey the UNBEATABLE just got BEAT...and BAD! The whole idea of building a radio station around JUST ONE person (Piolin) does not and WILL NOT work! "BACK TO BASICS" people simple radio works. Congrtas to OMAR and all the WONDERFUL staff at LA P! Y'all did it! "Si se PUEDE" "Si Se PUDO!"

What is KLLI's afternoon trend? You mean chaw talk, "Clo hand me the bottle", "Do we need a break?", fart noises everytime the word Putin is read isn't sustaining the RMS at #1?
 
The biggest problem with Spanish news/talk is that Univision is competing with itself and doesn't really put much of an effort to promote it or develop and promote a local presents. Yeah it has a AM local show but it doesn't push it in the market. When Radio Unica was in the market Univision did try to promote their station. When Radio Unica went under 1360 was airing Radio Formula (News/Talk from Mexico) and it was well recieved by those who were aware of it because it wasn't promoted much either. This is a whole in the market that I think could create an opportunity for someone who wants to get into Spanish media. The call letter change also lost some of its connection to the community. I say that because at least in Houston KLAT LA Tremenda still uses its call letters and slogan and still has ratings. There is something to be said for Branding.....This is where they drop the ball. And it isn't because they don't have talent. They do and they have access to a great deal of talent. It could be that locally the management has neglected it or it doesn't care. It isn't because the Hispanic market doesn't like news/talk, they would more likely get their news and information from radio than TV or newspaper......There are over a million Hispanics in DFW for Godsake, how could you not do well?

When you look at a 35+ morning show (KEGL) beating an 18-34 morning show (Piolin) iin 18-34, when the former does not get even a quarter of the audience of the latter in other markets, you know there is a sample issue which can be investigated with Arbitron.

It's simply impossible. And it's one of those things we see once or twice every couple of years in Arbitron.

Man David im quickly loosing all respect for you......Why cant you just say you know yeah Omar and his crew at La preciosa are doing somthing right they beat the number one spanish Morning show in the nation and also wuped us in the other part times durring this trend and also in the last book! Now would that be so hard to recognize that a 23 year old is tearing univision up in the number 5 Market?

Well KESS and KLNO are taking in the shorts for this trend and DE wants to blame it on arbitron. As much as I would like to side with you David, your tendency to find excuses for everything is getting tiring. I think the thing to see is actually the next trend to see if your argument holds water. I don't find La P programming to be very compelling but apparently the diary keepers felt it was. At least for the month of April. I would like to know exactly what the April numbers for the stations were 12+.......Granted people like to show different age demos and geographical coverage areas but the 12+ gives you an overall health of the station. By the way I guess Liberman is running into the ground the former Super Estrella....
 
By the way... the trends show listenership amongst birds soared, for KEOM. Sheep listenership severely declined for The Wolf, and the zippers can't decide about Lonestar yet. They could go up or down.

D.E. is true to form as I have been saying many times over. He cant allow himself to admit he lost an arguement,ignores facts,and feels he is the answer to anything dealing with radio. That is a definition of arrogance.

Actually these arbitron anomalies happen more than you think. Sometimes hispanics are weighted heavily, sometimes there not. KEGL has always been inconsistant so let's see what they do the next few trends. They might very well go back down and then of course little davey will say he was correct all along :D
