Still waiting on the 105.9 move-in (ASHEVILLE)

Mmmmm... You said today's standards over the years. I said a true soft AC station. I believe we are on the same page! It would certainly be an easy listening format with those kind of songs.

tk...we actually ARE on the same page. Pardon me for not clarifying and catching that earlier in the week...but hey, I've been fending off the flu all week, so I was slightly hyped up on nyquil.

If you program a station as "adult standards", who says you have to stick to just the songs that some programmer somewhere defines as being included in the format? Branch out a little. I'm not talking about a Jack format or anything, but why not add the songs which have become "standards" over the years? Isn't it the goal of standards to create a nice "easy listening" sound? Nobody ever said that sort of sound couldn't include songs which were recorded after a particular date. This sort of format truly would work in Asheville if the right folks tried it.
Standards have been recorded many times in recent years. Barry Manilow, Rod Stewart, Carly Simon, Bette Midler, etc.

WMXF sounds nice. That's what someone should do. Or Music of Your Life. That's even better.

Pointless Classics, on the other hand, which was on WISE ... forget it. I'm worried that's what you're talking about. Actually, WTZQ is still doing it. You just have to be where you can hear it.

I bet WTMT will be "The Mountain".....The moniker sounds good in Chattanooga on WDOD. I wonder when the signal tests will be conducted? Asheville is deprived of radio- I hope it is programmed better than OXL!! I hope that is also HD like OXL..BUT..I hope they figure out how to use that contraption in the rack (Omnia) no matter what format is done!!!!! ;D Reverb and Processing-They need help at Saga Asheville!
