COUNTRY.....

Please flip to 92.3 The Wolf, New York's Best Country

Is it just me, or whenever there's talk about a New York format flip, the "Urban Hayseeds" come out of the woodwork? K-ROCK IS COMING BACK.......I predict.

Have you listened to the stunting at all????

Guns & Roses, Metallica, Incubus, Foo Fighters, Nirvana, Beastie Boys, Buckcherry, and the clip list goes on.

Krock is probably back.

Maybe, but face it: PLENTY of stations have used their stunting time with misdirection to play with the minds of know-it-alls!

I second that notion. After all, the fact that "923krock.com" says "website coming soon" imo, says quite a bit.

It also says:
"Date first seen April 1999"

right. but still owned by CBS, and in the same block as 923freefm.com and suddenly theres a placeholder on the site? seems suspicious.

Krock is probably back.

To be fair, I also heard a segment of the Toby Keith song "Courtesy of the Red, White And Blue".

We shall see...But I guess this is good enough proof rock will be back...

Check THIS out
http://who.godaddy.com/WhoIs.aspx?domain=923krock.com&prog_id=godaddy

And as you can see on that page, the domain name was registered nearly seven years ago, so it's not really much of a clue.

Still, it appears pretty definite that K-Rock is on its way back.

1. the page dtothej linked to has something on that. link

What I’ve found is that it’s only very recently been acquired by CBS Radio. A look at the archive for 923krock.com shows you that it was owned previously by a squatter. Looking at underlying whois data, the domain began pointing at the CBS nameservers yesterday. I wonder if this really is the shotgun move some people have been speculating it to be?

I'm really excited that rock is coming back to the NYC area but I hope it isn't just gold based. We need an outlet for new rock music here in the city and, as much as people say FM radio is dead when it comes to rock, we're still the biggest market and have influence over the entire country. I hope it's not too 90's and 80's based.

Would a station go as far as registering a domain to them to also throw off the "speculators"? Everyone knows that people would be checking the registered domain names for clues right? Was the "Krock" domain just used for the "countdown" clock site? I dunno..... ???

Well we have seen smokescreen websites before. However, rare is the occasion when AllAccess, the mecca of all radio industry websites (to borrow a paraphrase from a radio Musicradio WABC fan) is fooled.

Wow! In this day and age when radio plays a very insignificant part of peoples lives except those that have no job and life, do you think they added $10k to the budget to fool the ten people that care? At 5pm you'll know and if you guessed earlier than that you don't win a prize.
