I don’t care how old the jocks are as long as they don’t suck. Most country stations target 25-54, and WSOC skews older. The reason is WKKT went new country in the late 90s, while WSOC was a full service country station until around 2011 when they rebranded as “The New 103.7”. WSOC held onto that older audience.I'm not interested in how popular country music is today, or in all the different styles that don't resemble what country music was in the past.
If you like what they're doing now, fine. I'm not interested in most of what passes for country these days.
If I am correct in my assumption that others my age feel the same, Is it really a good idea to have personalities in their 60s on stations that are largely going after a younger audience?
I’m in my mid 30s, so half of your age. I prefer older rock songs from the 70s to 90s, same with Hip Hop/R&B, but I like the newer country better.
