T1 service is costing up to $5,000 per month. No one is doing that. Most likely an IP feed. No one is doing Satellite. Even TV stations is moving from Sat to IP.Possible T1 ....or RF STL ...but EMF will likely put a dish in for sat feed
Yep you are correct, looks like it will step thru to CMG>Sugar Land>RADIO ONE>EMF
For KTHT EMF will probably have the same setup used at KHJK. EMF has a lot of experience with rimshot/rural transmitter locations.T1 service is costing up to $5,000 per month. No one is doing that. Most likely an IP feed. No one is doing Satellite. Even TV stations is moving from Sat to IP.
Actually no RO ownership of KTHT, just CMG selling to Sugarland, then a separate Sugarland to EMF sale, which could be filed at any time. Similar sequence with KROI, except with SBS as the final owner. LMAs could also happen at any time.Yep you are correct, looks like it will step thru to CMG>Sugar Land>RADIO ONE>EMF
No. It is going Cox -> Trust -> EMF.Yep you are correct, looks like it will step thru to CMG>Sugar Land>RADIO ONE>EMF
KTHT was already filed last week.Should keep a sharp eye on the daily FCC filings (thank you MichI and the fcc.today website) for the Trust sale filings for KROI and KTHT to SBS and EMF.
Acoording the APA for KTHT, it is going to EMF from radio one.For KTHT EMF will probably have the same setup used at KHJK. EMF has a lot of experience with rimshot/rural transmitter locations.
They also have to setup basic automation for local ID, as well as limited market-specific insert announcements.

Because the trust exists solely to manage the licenses for Radio One in the short-term. Radio One gets the proceeds of the sale, not the trustee (outside of the fee he gets for managing the trust). But the trustee is the licensee of the station now.Acoording the APA for KTHT, it is going to EMF from radio one.
I guess that when the change happened, all they did was transplant the automated operations of KPRC 2.2 onto KYAZ, only updating the top of the hour ID, though I don’t know that much about how tv stations work.I‘ve seen that very recently with KPRC news promos also. How is that possible?
You are right, and I had actually seen that in the firehose of fcc.today data last week but slipped my mind while posting. I recall thinking it strange that Sugarland Station Trust was filing to sell a station it didn't yet own, but I suppose that is one of the legal quirks of the divestiture trust setup, much like the ability for RO to program two non-owned stations (with commercials providing revenue) and not have an issue with market station caps.KTHT was already filed last week.
Master Control providing programming for any given station can be located anywhere, with such facilities servicing hundreds of OTA stations and other linear distribution outlets (cable, etc.) I believe a few years ago KPRC-TV was using Encompass Digital Media in Atlanta (for example, not sure if that is still the case) for their primary channel. Me-TV likely has a similar setup with "local" spots inserted by a hubcaster/centralcaster.I guess that when the change happened, all they did was transplant the automated operations of KPRC 2.2 onto KYAZ, only updating the top of the hour ID, though I don’t know that much about how tv stations work.
To me, stuff like the KYAZ thing and the Cox identifier still being in KTHT’s legal ID after Radio One’s takeover just screams “we don’t care about our station”.You are right, and I had actually seen that in the firehose of fcc.today data last week but slipped my mind while posting. During a sale, a lot is going on and no money is being made. If the format is being changed, there is no reason to do anything more than keeping the facility running per the contract. To me, stuff like the KYAZ thing and the Cox identifier still being in KTHT’s legal ID after Radio One’s takeover just screams “we don’t care about our station”.
Does the common listener know the stations were sold? The staff had little to no communication with Radio One and the trustee until this week. Getting imaging adjusted for a station that is being spun off again is not very high on the list of priorities right now.To me, stuff like the KYAZ thing and the Cox identifier still being in KTHT’s legal ID after Radio One’s takeover just screams “we don’t care about our station”.
Any staffers involved with KTHT have known for months the station was being sold. A TOHID without any ownership reference could have been produced and ready for use once the transfer took place.Does the common listener know the stations were sold? Yep, "A Cox Media Group Station" was replaced with a seemingly hastily-edited Scott Sparks VO saying "Country Legends".Edit to add: At 9am 8/3 KTHT’s TOHID did not include any CMG reference, so that issue has been fixed. Was still there yesterday.

Of course, they might have music snippets with liners from the future hosts if the Florida flips are any indication.KROI assignment to SBS was filed today. Looking through the documents, I do not see anything related to a LMA. So I guess SBS will take over and flip the format after the FCC approves the sale.
How long would something like that normally take? Is it possible they could flip it tonight, tomorrow?KROI assignment to SBS was filed today. Looking through the documents, I do not see anything related to a LMA. So I guess SBS will take over and flip the format after the FCC approves the sale.
FCC approval on average is 60-90 days. But there's something else that would hold up any closing and gives a more definitive date. Details of course here...How long would something like that normally take? Is it possible they could flip it tonight, tomorrow?

Have to wonder if Voz Media is having trouble coming up with the money to close their purchase of the SBS TV assets. Could November 15 be a walk away date for SBS buying KROI if they haven’t closed the separate deal with Voz? We might have Praise going on 92.1 for several more months, which would make their listener redirect efforts begin to look pretty silly.FCC approval on average is 60-90 days.
