The Party Has Moved!

The flip has already been made. Party 104-9 has closed shop-and moved over to 93.3, according to sources at Univision. Party's old dial position is now replaced by un estacion nuevo-Amor 104.9 I believe H-town & Beaumont is so very happy now. :)

Well Troy, you're close. Amor is indeed on 104.9 now ID'ing as KPTY/Mo. City and KPTY-HD1/Mo. City. However, Party is not on 93.3 as of 8:30am. They are still in simulcast with KOVE running Piolin por la manana this morning. My question is, what the hell is KPTI/Crystal Beach doing right now? No ID of the Crystal Beach stick on either KQBU or KPTY this morning. Is it silent? And when this is said and done will KPTI simulcast Amor or Party? Seems silly to simulcast 105.3 and 93.3 considering KQBU's overall signal strength.

 What are you all talking about? I live in The Heights and I drive everyday to Down Town and 93.3 signal is real bad.

Well, just checked the signal

The Analog RDS is now showing the song title and info
While the Digital signal is still showing "Party 104.9 - Houston's Hip Hop Station"

93.3's Analog RDS just shows 93.3, and yes, it is on, but it just says 93.3. No digital signal there though

I also wonder about KPTI, they'll probably just continue to simulcast 104.9 like always since it was meant to cover parts that 104.9 didn't cover.

I feel sorry for those in Beaumont - especially at Magic. Sure, you can argue the difference in programming and locality, but I'll bet my bottom dollar that it will take a hit from Party 93.3.

sorry to report but mean green and dave morales are no longer with the party crew. im gonna missed them seeing them at the studio, mean green and i always liked to talked about nfl games and players.
about the signal, yes its a 100,000 watts on a 2000 ft tower in devers which is great for listeners on the east side of houston and beaumont area. but reality is this a rim shot station for houston west side. but hey, at least it will cover most of the norhtern houston, galveston, and even areas further west area past fm1960 where 104.9 lack signal

Yeah, it is a big plus,

I just felt like calling The Mexicanz because they kept saying bigger and better.
It may be bigger, but it is not better for your listeners in the west side. Like my old "jefe" used to say, pendej**

I think Piolin for the time being is on Party 93.3 AND Recuerdos 106.5, but as of tomorrow, it will be heard exclusively on the latter. I think there'll be a major announcement on the switch, which will happen at 12 noon today.

Did anyone get to listen to 93.3 at noon???? What happened and what did they say???? i missed it bc im at work and im on the westside of Houston. My radio at work does not pick up 93.3 here on the westside at i10 and beltway 8

Isn't 93.3 basically a Beaumont station?

Yeah so that means that i cant listen to Party 93.3 bc i live in west Houston. 93.3 covers Beaumont, Port Arthur and only parts of houston to the north and south and east but unfortunately not the northwest ,west and southwest Houston

Yeah, I forgot about the whole rules of how a station supposed to ID itself

Yeah, but one of the engineeers (pelochas perhaps) already changed the Digital data to display KAMA-HD1. Something has to be illegal here. It's Id'ing itself as KPTY, but the digital call letters have changed to KAMA-HD1.

I wonder if 93.3 is going Digital anytime soon?

The 93.3 signal is not suited for the Party format, which is squarely aimed at an urban demographic. It will take a huge hit on the west side. Perhaps Univision is satisfied with reaching the heavily Hispanic east side. But it wouldn't stun me if something else eventually pops up on 93.3.

Perhaps Univision also thinks that the impending KQBU-1 booster will solve any reception issues with 93.3?

Maybe so, but unless their engineer is pretty good, they will have a lot of annoying signal delay issues. Imagine if people in the West side pick up both KQBU-1 and KQBU and they are not prefectly synchronized. What a mess. Hopefully this won't be an issue.

So, any update on KQBU-1, Last I checked, it was supposed to be in the same place that KLAT's daytime antennas were located.

would somebody please publish a dummy's guide to finding Univision stations? It's become quite puzzling. :-[ :-[

I'll do it.........but I'm just to lazy.

If it would help, here's only the Houston market.
KLTN 102.9 (CP to change city of Licsence from Houston to Missouri City)
KLAT 1010 AM
KAMA-FM 104.9 (currently on a Construction permit to move across Downtown to broadcast @ 8,800 watts and change COL to Deer Park, almost no change to height of tower)
KPTI 105.3 (out there in the sand dunes of Crystal Beach, heard somewhere they wanted to move to Winnie)
KPTY 93.3 (with a CP to build a booster by Aldine Mail Road and 59)
KRTX 980 AM
KOVE 106.5 (CP to move to a much taller tower with a whopping 100 KW)

The first thing The Mexicanz did at Party 93-3 was they made a huge concert announcement in regards to The Chris Brown concert they're having at The Toyota Center, and the 93rd caller at (713) 840-0933 won a pair of tickets.

I Hope you get your party fixed-This station now serves listeners The North & East Side of Houston, and All of The Golden Triangle area. Listeners who live out in the South & West part of Houston-Well, you're in bad luck. The station is available online worldwide, (And Even in Mexico) at www.party1049.com (Their old website will direct you to Party 93-3)

First Song They Played on Party 93-3: Alicia Keyes-"No One"
