The Programming Disputes Thread

http://www.lansingstatejournal.com/...ess-restored-lansing-dish-customers/87003450/

WLAJ the Lansing ABC affiliate has their contract resolved with Dish. Why is it that Cablevision, Dish and Time Warner Cable Appear on every contract dispute we see here. How dysfunctional can these companies be.

Greed???

Actually I hope that Charter taking over Time Warner will put a stop to a lot of their contract disputes.

Something that I think could put a stop to a lot of this garbage would be if the cable and satellite systems were required by law to refund customers for times there were contract disputes with channels. But then what are the chances to actually get the Congress to do that?

For Univision disputes, like the one Charter is having, does it affect TWC/Bright House customers as well. Also, does the Univision dispute affect the entire network of stations, including Entravision's and Sinclair's stations or just the O&Os? And what about the UniMas stations that are in a situation where they are half-O&Os, with Univison owning it, but Entravision operating it, like WFTT in Tampa? Would that mean I could get Univision, but not UniMas?

Update for Southern California.

Pac-12 Networks said Cox Communications have reached a carriage agreement where the sports network's national feed will air on Cox systems in Southern California and Arizona on its "Essential" tier.

Cox previously carried only the Pac-12 Regional Sports Networks (Pac-12 Arizona, Pac-12 Los Angeles) in those markets that were focused on events from the home universities.

It appears that DISH NETWORK and Meredith Corporation have consummated
an agreement. Stations like KPHO and KTVK in Phoenix and others elsewhere
will continue to be carried on DISH NETWORK without interruption......

Pissing matches. Fighting over money and other stuff. Just like with the supermarket I work for. Our Union Contract expired on February 28th and we worked well into April without one. Each side blamed each other. Now we're good for another 3 years.

Well, that's what they get when they has too many disputes, especially with Tribune.

BTW, if Fox and Univision is suing Charter, will that mean that they will pull out their channels from former Time Warner and Bright House customers, especially for me. Also, if Univision pulls out it's stations from Charter and/or TWC/BHN, will it affect the Entravision stations too? Also, will it affect the UniMas stations half-owned by Univision and Entravision, like WFTT-TV in Tampa?
