The "Q" Isn't for You...Any Longer???

Who cares about website comments? I didn't know Arbitron included websites in their numbers...

If less than less than 1% call your station, less than less than less than 1% will comment on your website unless they're disconnected geeks like us....;)

First weekend of "Cool 92 & 100,pretty good, like the presentation and the jocks for the most part.,
music beds under jocks voices at every break gets annoying. Some of the 80s stuff we could do without i.e "Power of Love",
by Huey Lewis.

They're gone now. I guess somebody finally realized that having a website loaded with negative listener comments was a bad idea.

I LOATHE the name: Classic Hits Radio used by 92.1/100.1. It should be called CLASSICS or OLDIES.

For example here's a brief description (taken by a few well respected websites within the radio community).

Definitions of the "Classic Hits" format...

* Classic hits is a radio format which generally includes oldies music from the 1960s, 1970s, and, in some cases, the 1980s.

* Most of the late 90's and 21st-century versions, however, are based on a music library mostly consisting of [classic rock-style] hits from the 1970s. Variations of the core playlist vary greatly and include playlists composed of only pop-leaning classic rock.

Take a look at WHLM FM 103.5 from Berwick and the playlist from 92.1/100.1, they're as different as night & day, but both image themselves as "Classic Hits" stations.

While I also do not care for Classic Hits Radio as an on-air format discriptor, people in the business often look at these things differently than the consumer does.Time will tell us that outcome. One might say there are conflicting messages in the imaging of the station which will not help it brand itself, but thats for another thread and is subjective.
It is not, however, inaccurate. A Classic can be called something that endures the test of time. A hit is a song that was a big seller, it successfully charted. Based on that, it is surely a Classic Hits station. As to the broad differential between WQFM and WHLM, there were a lot of hits to choose from in that era of Pop music. Many AC stations are the same format yet sound much differently. Also many rock stations, talk stations, etc.
